Allison told me today that it was unfair that when she accidentally spilled her drink her father made her clean it up "like I was some kind of maid". I said, "Well, Daddy isn't your maid. If he spilled his drink wouldn't he have to clean his up? So it's only fair you clean yours up, right?" She said, "Ok. But I clean up after my parents ALL the time." and I said, "Oh you do? Hmm...when?" and she answered, "Well, I cleaned off the coffee table." so I said, "Yes, but isn't that mostly your mess?" and she said, "Sure some of it. But, like, the camera? Not mine. The diaper bag? Not mine. The keys to your van? Not mine. Audrey's toys? Not mine." and on and on she went. Worst part? Every item she named WAS on that table.
To be fair, I don't remember her cleaning that table. Which is not to say she didn't. But it's funny to me that here I am trying to point out how she should clean up behind herself and she points out very well that her Mother doesn't practice what she preaches. This kid? I get away with NOTHING.
