What a great weekend!
Saturday consisted of playing a bit of snooker locally, having a bit of a clean round in the flat and generally chilling.
Sunday morning I got uncerimoniously kicked out from my girlfriend's flat because she was off to the football at Watford, so I retreated to a pub with
daveman23 and had quite a few beers watching Brighton v Ipswich (I wanted Brighton to lose so Crewe could stay up, which endeared us to the Ipswich fans) and panicking as the Crewe results came in.
The situation kept changing right up to the final whistle but SOMEHOW we managed to win our first game since the New Year and secure our place next season. At that point I honestly felt like we'd just gone up. Stayed on in the pub for a few more drinks and to watch the Arsenl game, which was Neil's real focus.
The hidden benefit of the Championship next season, aside from the money and a bit more prestige for us, is that there are loads more teams in the Championship that I can actually make it to next season, compared to the pittance of London/SE teams in League One. I've done really badly at going to games this season so I'll have to resolve to go to more next year, if only to prove to certain that I am a 'proper' fan!
