For Caseland, we had to do two drabbles for the prompt "gunshot".

John stirs in an unfamiliar bed.
“John?” The voice is haggard, exhausted, and so unmistakably Sherlock’s.
“Hospital,” John murmurs, the noises and smells having alerted him to his location without the need to open his eyes.
“Yes,” Sherlock says softly. “I’m afraid one of Moriarty’s snipers got a round off right before the explosion. You were hit in the side. The bullet missed major organs, but you still needed surgery. The doctors say there’s no permanent damage.”
“You alright?” John manages to whisper, the morphine already pulling him back under. There is a rustle of bedsheets, and suddenly John’s hand is enveloped in Sherlock’s with a reassuring squeeze.
“No permanent damage,” he hears Sherlock say again, and there’s a bitterness and terror in Sherlock’s voice John has never heard before. He hopes he has imagined the words, the last thing he hears before slumber Sherlock’s voice, choked with tears, whispering “He’ll burn out my heart.”

As soon as they find out Mozzie will be alright, that the gunshot hasn’t killed him, Neal runs.
This is a panicked flight, none of Neal’s usual stealth involved, and it’s easy enough for Peter to find him.
Peter knows Neal well enough now, he thinks he could always find him. He thinks Neal would want him to.
Neal is, of all places, in Peter’s own backyard.
Instinctively returning to safety. To home.
Peter sits down in the grass next to him. Neal doesn’t turn, or acknowledge him, just says, simply “Don’t get shot.”
“Ok,” Peter answers, just as simply, but he can hear the tears choking Neal’s voice, and he rests a hand on Neal’s shoulder, squeezes lightly, reassuringly.
He knows he can’t promise this, not really. He knows Neal knows this too.
“I’m making pot roast tonight,” Peter says, and stands up.
He doesn’t bother telling Neal he’s invited. At this point, Neal should know he always is.
Neal follows him into the house.
