Apparently Darkover was
optioned for TV. Which could be really awesome, as it's right up there with the Master Li books and ElfQuest (which also just
got a new movie deal, but no one is holding their breath over that anymore) as something I want to see onscreen*. If done right. That's the big question. And this may not really make it to our screens, but at least such quotes as, "One of the hallmarks of Marion Zimmer Bradley's work is her rethinking and reinvention of gender roles. She was among the first speculative fiction writers to take on gender stereotypes and bend them or turn them topsy-turvy, thereby creating complex and unforgettable characters whose struggles with their own identities, as well as what society expects of them, feel completely modern," make it hopeful these people would do well by the world and stories.
*And Finder, and Inherit The Stars, and Pern (and of course Gilgamesh and Justice League: New Regime).
