Does anyone else write evil fic?
No, I'm not just talking about stories where characters are evil, I'm talking about stories that take your original ideas and fuck them over seven ways from Sunday.
Like so. You write a story with premise A and pairing B/C. A is just about the awesomest idea to ever awesome, in your opinion, and B/C is a total OTP. Then you write more in the series, and a bit more, and suddenly it is revealed that premise A was a lie all along, and premise X is really what's happening. B starts cheating on C, and they break up, and C ends up getting married to D. You sit there, writing away, almost crying over how premise A is gone and B/C broke up. Except, you are super pleased with premise X, because it is rocking, and C/D turns out to be the hottest thing since sliced cupcakes.
That's evil fic. It takes all the ideas you loved and worked hard on, undermines them, blows them out of the water, destroys your hopes and dreams, and makes you like it.
This has happened to me multiple times, in original fiction and in various fandoms. Am I just cracked in the head? Or do other people suffer the same way?
