I was going to spend this evening lazing around, watching WaT, listening to the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency, working on the oh-so-going-to-be-late-again story, and maybe even sleeping. It was going to be relaxing, enjoyable, and all the things one doesn't normally bother to post about.
I'm still in work. OK, so I'm actually about to leave -- D's writing an explanatory email and I'm killing time -- but the principle's the thing. We have a politically important release that has to go out in a day or two, and we've finally got it working. It's actually been quite fun, because our main debugging technique has been listening to audio samples and working out from that just what the decoder has mangled this time.
I'm exhausted but we're happy. And we have a thing that goes ting. What more could a man want?
