I seem to have dropped off LJ for a while. There's no particular reason -- it's not that I've reached my half-century, or the drama that has been playing out (I'll say more when it actually finishes playing out). I just seem to have ended up in late night habits that haven't included firing up my desktop. They have included beer and quiz nights and other socialising, just not online. Such is life.

I had a pleasantly lazy weekend. Saturday was a picnic on Jesus Green with a local Meetup group; rather too much wine may have been consumed. It was a bit windy too; one enterprising group of picnickers had brought along a small brazier-style barbecue, and the sideways jet of flame as it got up to temperature was quite impressive.

Then yesterday I went to listen to Trinity College Choir singing from punts on the river. Very relaxing, and it brought back a lot of memories too. I actually misremembered the time and arrived several hours early, which let me play the tourist for the first time in years. A timely accident, as it happens; my family will be visiting en masse in a couple of weeks, and I'll have to play tourist guide. It's just as well to find out now what has changed since I was last paying attention to it!
