strengths as a beta reader: I prefer to work with the author on all aspects of the story--not just a read through, but the flow of the plot, as well as typos, grammar and punctuation. I am a nurse, so I can help with medical info. And I've lived in England, so I can do some Brit checking.
Turn-around time--a few weeks for a long story

Strengths/Weaknesses: I am British born and bred and was a teenager/twenty-something in the 70s and 80s. I’m reasonably good on canon having watched the episodes when screened and also repeatedly on DVD over the last five or so years. I can spell and my grammar is OK and I'm pretty good at basic proof reading. I can Brit and plot check and will research anything I’m not sure about. I am pedantic and will make lots of comments, but totally understand that it's the author's story and not mine. I aim to challenge. Reasonably quick turnaround, but is dependent of busy RL and length of story. Happy to have e-mail dialogue.
Fandoms/Pairings: The Professionals - Bodie and Doyle
Genres - all (I think!)
Preferences - Gen, slash.
Would Rather Not - extreme or gratuitous sexual violence, under-age sexual activity, S&M

Contact here or via lj PM & I'll give you my email addy.

Strengths/Weaknesses: I know the canon well. I grew up in the late 50's - 70's (in NZ admittedly). I'm good at research and proof-reading. Grammar is good, just not perfect. As a non-Brit I strongly suggest you get another person to act as your Brit-checker if you need one, but I think I know enough to make things easy for them.

Am a bit busy until April, but after then I can do a rough go-through in 3-5 days for a 20,000 word story. 2 weeks for a full review, discussion included. The longer the story is, the longer it will take.

Happy to work with you and a different beta for second opinions, nit-picking etc.

Don't think I have any restrictions re. genres, but if in doubt, ask.

What pairings/genres do you enjoy/are you willing to read: any/ all
What are your strengths as a beta reader?: British, southerner, a little young for 70s (was only a child), but happy to research/ look up if I have concerns. I'll probably edit heavily if left to my own devices - not text, just grammar, tidying etc - but will take advice on the amount you want
What kind of turn-around time can someone expect from you?: I am not usually as slow as my sign up speed would let you believe - I've been busy getting married - back today though! Can turn around single chapters in 2-3 days - sooner if you need and I'm expecting them. Entire work will take longer, as I like to read for continuity a good few times - say 7-10 days.
