I have to confess, I'm thoroughly confused. At the end of part 2, Cowley is sending them to Macklin. Then Part 3 starts with Doyle cooking and the two writing a report, and goes on to talk about Doyle's relationship with Claire. Is there a part missing?

Sorry for the delay, I've been 'on the road'.

The third part starts at the end of 'Mixed Doubles'. Perhaps putting the part break between the reference to Macklin and the scene with Coyle by the lake broke the continuity & caused the confusion? I might tweak that bit a little though, just to make sure it's clear - thanks for the comment.
