a poem for Easter

I wrote this years ago,just found it again today, seems appropriate to share at this season.:)

Carpenter's Son

Look at these hands
See how they hold
The hammer and nails lovingly

Soon they will heal
Too soon they will feel
The hammered spikes on a tree

refrain
But for now the spectacle is hid
For my Savior is just a kid
Learning his father's trade
He's just a carpenter's son

Fingers and toes
Muscle and bones
Are trained to shape the wood

Love from on high
Burns deep inside
Soon it will burst into view

refrain

Prophets foretell
Angels as well
His destiny's far from this place

Soon he must leave
Mary will grieve
But this is the way of God's grace
