Hi LJ!
I'm really excited about what happened this week!
I met some Japanese artists in person!
In an earlier post I mentioned that I'm part of a club that promotes Japanese culture in my country and this week we got the chance to help out at the Super Japan Live concert as part of the staff. This is the first time this is done where I live.
The line up was anime singers Takayoshi Tanimoto (Digimon Tamers, Konjiki no Gash Bell!, Sentai Juuken Sentai Gekiranger, Dragon Ball Kai) and Nobuo Yamada (Saint Seiya); visual kei artist Kaya; and M.O.V.E. (of Initial D, Final Fantasy: Unlimited, and Asobot Senki Goku fame).
The night before the concert we had dinner with them and at the end we got to take pictures with them! Unfortunately, due to copyright reasons with Avex Music, I can't post the pics :(. But they were a lot of fun, especially Motsu-san, the rap vocalist from M.O.V.E. He came to our table, offered us some beer and stuck around to chat for a bit. He's so cool! :D
The next day we began early at the venue. While we were setting up banners and the merchandise table, we got to see the artists' rehearsal so it was like a private concert just for us!
Later I got to help out with the artists' lunch and I was glad they enjoyed the Peruvian dishes we served them. They even asked for seconds!
During the concert I was in charge of the press. This was quite complicated because, since I mentioned earlier, there are a lot of copyright restrictions about photographing or filming the artists. Only the anime singers could be photographed and filmed, Kaya and M.O.V.E. could only be photographed during their two first songs by the press (the audience wasn't allowed to).
After the concert they asked me to MC the press conference of the event organizers where they talked about future plans to bring many more artists including J-Pop and K-Pop bands and singers!!!!! Ureshiiiiiii~!!!!
Since Avex represents so many artists I like (Koda Kumi, Shirota Yuu, BoA, Tohoshinki, Exile, Gackt, Big Bang even JStorm/Johnny's Entertainment (Arashi!!!!! :D) for Taiwan and Hong Kong!!!!), I'm thrilled!!!!
Then came the fan meet where the artist signed autographs and shook hands with the audience. We got autographs as well, yay!!!
Finally, when everything was over we went backstage to greet the artists who thanked us for the hard work and took some more pictures with us. Motsu-san even asked his manager to take a picture of him with us with his tablet-thingy and he tweeted it!!!!! Here's the link (I guess its OK to post this XD)
p.twipple.jp/dhYvR At the end of everything, we were dead tired but really happy that we were part of the beginning of something so special.
I guess that's it!
XOXO
