I hate predatory lenders!!
We've all seen their adds! This hatred is even for those from the "reputable" banks. I've had a MasterCard with one of the country's largest banks for over 15 years. I had paid it off a couple of years ago, and haven't had a balance on it, or even used it, since. They keep sending me offers of loans, with pretty good initial terms. Well I'm to the point of wanting to roll over my other high interest balances so they will be easier to pay off. So I sent in the inquiry on one of their offers. They quote you on that 8.9% with the possibility of being higher depending on your credit score and other factors. Now knowing my credit score, which granted isn't the greatest in the land, but it isn't even in the bottom 2/3, they wanted to approve me at 17.9%! Told the gal that there was no way I was going to stand still and be fucked up the ass like that, and she could just forget the application, then I hung up. Funny that she called back within 10 minutes saying she could work with me on the interest rate. I told her that I could do wayyyyyy better at my credit union than what she had quoted, and I thought they were high. Amazing, the bitch decided that she could offer the original interest rate, which is the lowest that I've found of late, and better than what my credit cards are, which is what I'm trying to get rid of. Just funny how the rate went down by half after I'd told her that I wouldn't be fucked by them. Seems fitting for near Easter and stories about Jesus and money lenders. :grrrr:
