“Kangin ah. For your success in slimming down, should I make a feast for today's dinner?” Leeteuk randomly asked as he helped Kangin to clear up the mess Heechul had made in his room later that night. “Nah. Its alright. I'm kinda used to eating healthy now.”

The answer shocked Leeteuk slightly. The old Kangin would have demanded for meat for a feast, usually. Leeteuk laughed softly. “Alright.”

Silence was in the air, and Leeteuk finished with his pile before stepping out of the room. Kangin frowned as his door shut close. Was it something he had done to make Leeteuk this withdrawn?

...But he didn't recall doing anything that would make Leeteuk upset. Maybe he's just upset for no reason. Kangin whistled a light tune while folding his socks. Although he still wanted to meet Yoonji, somehow the excitement wasn't there anymore.

Its was like.. he didn't feel that all happy to meet her. Weird. During those exercises, Kangin had always thought that he was doing it for the sake of Yoonji, to be her perfect boyfriend she can rely on. But all his thoughts during those time were only Leeteuk.

When Leeteuk asked him to finish 3 rounds of running around the neighborhood. When Leeteuk cheered him to complete 100 sit ups. When Leeteuk bribed him into eating the diet food.

Leeteuk seemed to occupy his thoughts more than he thought. Hm.

Come to think of it, Leeteuk had been around more than Yoonji had been. Every time he had a problem, it was always Leeteuk that he will go to. Silently he wondered why. There were a lot of questions left unanswered in his mind, and they all suddenly became so much clearer recently.

Did that run clear his head?

ARGH.

He shouldn't think so much. Its giving him a headache. All he should do, is to meet up with Yoonji, catch up with her and think of future plans already. That's it. Kangin checked the decision in his head, but there's this annoying pain in his heart.

Ignoring it, Kangin continued folding his socks, thinking of random stuff.

'Even if the world had abandoned you, I will still be here for you.'

Hm? Where did that come from? It gave Kangin a really warm and bubbly feeling within him. A secured and loved feeling. He can't really remember. It was a gentle and soothing voice, and it felt really familiar, but Kangin just couldn't recall. Maybe Yoonji said that.

Smelling a really delicious smell, Kangin immediately finished with the stack and went out towards the kitchen, completely forgetting whatever he had been brooding on just now.

-

For the next few hours until the timing he was to meet Yoonji, Kangin felt that Leeteuk was suddenly getting really cuddly. Leeteuk had been hugging him randomly, giving reasons like, 'A wish of luck for you!' and what not.

He wondered why, but he sure wasn't complaining.

Leeteuk's hug had been inviting and warm, and somehow there was this lingering trace of familiarity whenever he placed his arms around Leeteuk to hug him back. Maybe it came from Yoonji.

Hours had passed by, and Leeteuk's hugs seemed to more frequent. And while Kangin was wearing his shoes, when hands came to wrap around him again, he exploded.

“Teuk ah! Why are you hugging me so much today?!”

Leeteuk stiffened, but he did not let go. His head was shadowed by his bangs, and Kangin swore that he saw Leeteuk bit his lips before a weak reply came out. “..Its just a friendly hug, you know?”

Kangin did not believe one bit of it. Leeteuk seemed to have something up his mind, and Kangin was determined to help him with it. After all, Leeteuk had been helping him since forever, its a definite must for him to help Leeteuk back.

“..Don't tell me lies. I can see it. If you have anything, you can tell me you know.”

Immediately there's this emotion that flashed through Leeteuk's eyes before it was shadowed again, a small grin replacing the stiff lips. “What are you talking about, you big baby! You're going to be late if you don't hurry.”

Anger suddenly rushed through Kangin. Why was Leeteuk being so secretive around him!? Wasn't he Leeteuk's best friend?! “Don't lie to me dammit!!”

Leeteuk's mouth snapped shut right after the exclamation, before he started to back away from Kangin. Immediately, Kangin started to mentally slap his big mouth, worry filling his eyes. “L-Look, I'm sorry alright? I was just worried and I didn't know tha-”

“Its fine. Its nothing you should know of anyway.” The cold reply interrupted Kangin abruptly, and Leeteuk turned stiffly back to his room. Anger came back as quick as it left. Leeteuk definitely had something wrong with him, and Kangin's going to fix it before he go off to meet Yoonji!

“Nothing I should know of?! Don't you treat me as your friend?! Don't I tell you my troubles as well?! What makes you think I shouldn't have the right to know it!!” His arm reached out to stop Leeteuk from walking away, but when Leeteuk jerked his arm away it had shocked Kangin.

Tears seemed to be in his eyes, before he screamed out in Kangin's face angrily. “Stop bothering me! Go meet Yoonji now, alright?! Leave me alone!” The door slammed close a few seconds later, and it was enough to snap Kangin out of his daze.

It had been so long since he saw Leeteuk cried. The last time was when he had rescued him from the bullies, and it had never appeared since. It was only Leeteuk's smile all the time, and Kangin had just assumed that Leeteuk was fine and happy with his life.

Never did he thought that Leeteuk would have something so serious. And he was hiding it up till now! How long had it been? Why didn't he notice?! Kangin pinched himself in punishment. Aah, thoughts later. Now to get Leeteuk to spill out whatever's cooping up in him.

Banging his fists furiously on the door, Kangin was pleased to know that his strength had increased at the door had rattled...But that's not the time for that dammit! “LEETEUK! PLEASE, TELL ME WHAT'S BOTHERING YOU! You've been there whenever I need it, and this time I can do the same as well!”

Silent greet him back and Kangin growled. The silent treatment huh?

“IF YOU CONTINUE TO BE SILENT, I'LL KNOCK THIS DOOR DOWN!” A punch towards the poor door accented his words strongly and the door rattled again. “I'M WARNING YOU! I'LL GIVE YOU 3 SECONDS!”

“3!”

“2!”

“1!” Dammit, why wasn't he answering?

“...1 AND A HALF!!” Still not answering huh? One more last chance!

“...1 QUARTER!!” He's really not answering! Kangin narrowed his eyes dangerously, as he stepped back for a while, preparing to ram towards the door when he heard something being said out. “What? Please repeat it again! I didn't catch it just now.” And he pressed his whole body on the door just in case he missed it again.

The poor door hinges squeaked.

“...I like you.”

Three simple words, had knocked Kangin's sense off totally. He was expecting something like, 'I'm feeling alone!' or that someone was bullying him at work.. but nothing like this. A dry “..What?” escaped his mouth.

“...No. I don't like you. I love you.”

Its a joke right? Leeteuk must have been playing a joke on him, to make him feel all messed up just before he went to meet up with Yoonji. “Haha, how cruel of you to be playing a joke at this moment, Teuk ah!” He chuckled nervously. There was a tensed silence.

The door opened slowly, and Leeteuk walked out, eyes that radiated nothing but truth. “Its the truth. I love you. I love you until I'm willing to die for you. I love you until I can't love anymore. I love you so much. You wanted to know it so much right!? Are you regretting it now?!”

Kangin's mouth went dry from the fierce truth that was unfolded right in front of him, and Leeteuk's frustrated expression changed to one that Kangin couldn't recognize. A small sad smile grew on Leeteuk's face suddenly. “I love you. I really, really love you. But there's someone else that you love now. No matter what, I will always support you and be there for you, Kangin. Yoonji's waiting for you.”

With that, Leeteuk retreated back to his room, and only when the door closed with a small 'bam' then only did Kangin realized the true extent of Leeteuk's words.

Backing out of the corridor, Kangin took his eyes and coat before running out of the house, the door closing behind him with a loud slam.

And to Leeteuk, the slam sounded like the door Kangin's closing towards his heart. Forever.

He sank down onto his bed to cry silently, tears that had been locked up for 5 years all pouring out at that moment.

-

Kangin drove, towards Junior's Complex where he had to meet Yoonji. His mind was in a total mess right then, and it was really frustrating.

He had never knew that Leeteuk had harbored feelings for him. Heck, he didn't even noticed! When did it start anyway? Had it been a long time? Kangin didn't know how to react.

For once, Leeteuk was his best friend, and to know that he actually liked him was somehow shocking. And secondly, Kangin knew that he couldn't stand it when homosexuals had came onto him. Not that he had anything against them, but Kangin was proud to be a straight guy.

He's going to have a headache soon.

Deciding to call Sungmin to question upon Leeteuk's sudden confession seemed to be a great idea, and Kangin did it promptly. The dial tone rang, and someone picked it up.

“Yobesaeyo?” (A/N: so sorry if its in the wrong spelling, but I didn't know how to spell it.)

“Sungmin ah. Its Kangin.”

“Sungmin is out. Kyuhyun is on the line now. Yes hyung?”

Kyuhyun. One of his juniors that from high school. He was also quite close Leeteuk at times.. and Kangin supposed that asking him wouldn't hurt.

“..A-ah. Do you know anything.. about.. Leeteuk's.. preference?”

Ack. The question came out wrongly. But Kyuhyun seemed to understand what he was trying to say. There was another tense silence, and Kangin wondered if he had said the wrong word.

“Its true. He thought nobody noticed, but we all did. He kept everything to himself, hoping that maybe you will notice him. But when you found Yoonji, he supported you. Leeteuk-hyung's love for you is unconditioned. Not that I'm trying to convince you to break up with Yoonji or what, but I just want you to know. Leeteuk's willing to give the world for you.”

Kangin had been silent. For being someone so young, he didn't knew that Kyuhyun was this deep at all.

Kyuhyun hesitated, before he added another line in. “I really like Leeteuk-hyung. He's a good 'umma' towards me, and I want to keep his happiness. So please just do me a favor, if you're not interested in him, please reject him properly, so he can find someone that can give him happiness. Treat it as you owe me something, hyung. Leeteuk's really heartbroken, and I can't stand it.”

There was a slight stutter, before Kangin murmured out softly. “..How long has it been?”

“5 years. 5 long years.”

Eyes widened as realization came upon Kangin. 5 years? So Leeteuk had liked him ever since they met! Was that even possible? Only then he realized, almost all of their time together, Leeteuk had been with him no matter when.

When he was angry, when he was sad, when he was happy, when he was frustrated.. Simply just everywhere for him. A sudden answer came to him, and he realized what that unknown emotion Leeteuk's eyes were showing just now. It was love.

Leeteuk's last words rang in his head, and it somehow felt familiar..

'No matter what, I will always support you and be there for you, Kangin.'

I will always support you and be there for you.. Where did that come from? Kangin knew that he had heard it before. He racked his brain for the answer, forgetting that he was on the wheel and Kyuhyun's on the line. A sudden honk snapped him out of his thought, and Kangin pulled over just in time.

“Hyung?”

'Even if the world had abandoned you, I will still be here for you.'

That's it! That sentence that Kangin knew that he had heard before! Memories from the night where he had accidentally met up with Yoonji face to face came pouring in, and Kangin stilled with shock.

“..Hyung? Are you there?”

Kyuhyun's voice interrupted his thoughts suddenly, and Kangin thanked Kyuhyun before hanging up on him. It was actually Leeteuk that had given him warmth when he needed it. It was actually Leeteuk whom he had felt secure with.

Kangin didn't know what was what anymore.

-

Later when he had reached Junior's Complex, late for 5 minutes due to his sudden pull over, Kangin had ran towards the lithe figure standing near the water fountain. Though his mind held the least of things for Yoonji.

“..Mianhae. I had something sudden on.”

This time, Yoonji's beauty didn't seem comparable anymore. She looked like any other girls that Kangin could pick off from the streets. Yoonji smiled, saying that it was alright.

Both of them stood awkwardly, before Yoonji decided to talk. “I'll cut straight to the point, Kangin-ah. Its been 4 years since we had talked, yes?” Kangin mutely nodded his head.

“..I'm happy to see that you've not changed at all, but.. I don't think I'm the one meant for you.”

Words that Kangin didn't expect came out, but the hurt wasn't that heavy than he thought to be. In fact, this seemed to be like a secondary matter towards Leeteuk's.

Yoonji seemed to know something, but she continued. “I have someone that I fancy now, and I hope that both of us can still lead our own lives happily. And as for you, you do have someone that you like as well.”

“...I...do...?”

Kangin looked at Yoonji with surprise evident in his eyes. Her eyes curled up, just like before and it twinkled with unknown wisdom. “That's correct. You like Leeteuk-sshi, can't you see? Leeteuk's been through everything for you, he loves you wholeheartedly. And sometimes, you would talk to me non-stop about Leeteuk-sshi as well. Open your eyes, Kangin. Go back to the person that you truly love.”

Yoonji's words seemed to be the key that opened up Kangin's heart, and all the emotions had just burst forth now. So it was love? Love for Leeteuk? Love for the angel that lived with him for 5 years? He felt warm and fuzzy, now that he had acknowledged this fact.

“Why are still standing here? Go! Go back to Leeteuk-sshi!” Kangin smiled apologetically, before bowing to Yoonji and running towards his car. “Thank you, Yoonji-ah!! I hope you have a happy life!!”

Yoonji smiled, her hand waving to the guy whom she had loved once that was running out of her life.

“Good luck..”

With that, she turned around, and began to walk away as well, towards a new life of a celebrity.
