Ben, Amanda, Riley, and I must have been exhausted from the bus ride because none of us got up before noon. When we finally did, we got dressed and went to lunch in the restaurant on the first floor of our hostel. Afterwards, we met up with Kara, Paul, Mary Beth, and Ashley and headed to the train station. We took the train to the bus station, took the bus to the foot of the mountain, and got on the gondola (which is like a combination of an elevator and a ski lift). We traveled up the side of the mountain at a 45 degree angle and when we reached the top, we got into a shuttle and went into Grindelwald and Murren.
The towns were completely covered in snow! After jumping out of the shuttle, I crunched around in the snow, molding snowballs and throwing them. We took pictures and explored the sleepy little towns. My favorite thing was jumping into a snow bank. The snow came up to my thighs, it was so great! Never have I seen so much snow!
We found a cute little diner in Murren and enjoyed a delicious Swiss supper together. We had hot chocolate after hot chocolate and chatted while we watched the snow silently fall outside. It was perfection.
