First day of classes today! I always get really anxious during the first week of classes because I've had waaaay too many instances where I've been unable to find my classroom. Being the big emotional tard that I am, this usually gets me pretty frustrated and makes me start crying a little. But I did well this time (:

First class of the day was Digital Cinema Production I. I was a little nervous about this class because the professor I'm taking it with got some pretty bad reviews on ratemyprofessor.com... but she seems pretty cool. Most of the reviews tag her as too much of a perfectionist when it comes to grading thing though.. so I guess I'll save my final opinion on her until the first few assignments.

Speaking of the first few assignments.. our first assignment is a location portrait in which we have to storyboard a specific location and have sort of a plot twist ending... but without using characters. Umm.. I guess I can figure something out. My main concern is that we'll have to shoot this by renting out a Panasonic DVX100B camera from the university.... I don't know if I feel safe even THINKING about running around with a $1000+ camera.. ugh.

Secoooond class of the day was Anime History. This is basically just a filler class for me. I've had the teacher before (she remembers me from a year ago, yay!), so I know it'll be an easy 'A'. The class is basically in the same format as the Animation History class I took with her before. And I'm pretty sure she only just start ACTUALLY becoming interested in anime last year when the class was first introduced... because when I had taken Animation History, she openly admitted that she didn't really know anyting about anime. Sooo yeah. Not expecting to get too much out of the class other than mass amounts of info about Osamu Tezuka, Satoshi Kon, and Hayao Miyazaki... but I could be wrong.

The class is actually filled with more non-weaboos than I thought there were going to be. One girl in the class is actually from Japan, so that's kind of cool.

Animation Production I and Information Visualization tomorrow. Whee.

Haley is going to be nine on the 13th. That's in a few days. She's almost double digits. Pretty crazy how fast time flies.

Lucien and I have been having more random conversations about him coming to visit Chicago. It makes me happy, but also nervous at the same time. I've never been too great of a host, so I'm not too sure of what we could do; especially if he's coming in the winter. Going out might be hard if we can't get a ride in a car with how cold it gets here sometimes.

My sisters are pretty excited about him visiting. Well, Haley doesn't exactly know yet, but she gets excited as it is when I'm on the phone or skyping with him. Christina's already saying she owes him a trip to Portillo's since she insists that he eats there while he's in Chicago, haha. Mom keeps asking when he's coming too, so I'm sure she's looking forward to it. Though part of that might be that she just doesn't want me leaving home for a week or two again, since I've basically done that every 3-4 months since we've been together.

Still not sure when it's happening... but yeah.

I should play more Birth by Sleep, but I'm really sucking at it and keep dying too often for my liking. On Standard mode. Wtf. I've had it since Monday night and I'm just now in Snow White's world. Waaaah.
