Well, since I've mentioned it on every other social networking site I frequent.. I think it's time for a mini rant.

So I get a call from work while I'm in class. We were looking over the animatics that were due today, otherwise I might have thought to go outside and answer, but I'm glad I didn't.

Turns out it was my boss calling to yell at me. So it goes without saying that her message was pleasant to listen to later.

What was it about? Apparently I got written up at work today.

Why? Because there were salads from the 8th left in the fridge that were brown and gross, so she had to throw them out. And even though she acknowledged that it wasn't my job to make salads since I closed at work last night.. because the waitress that WAS supposed to make salads didn't and because I didn't make up for her slack by making new salads for her... we're both getting written up.

I love these unspoken required tasks for me at work. I swear there's something new everyday. No one ever told me that it's job to check salads that thoroughly at the end of the night. I mean, I DO check the fridge to make sure there are salads there at the end of the night for the waitress the next day (Which there were), but I don't fucking check the dates on them, because that's 1st off waitress side work.

And after thinking about it a bit.. the waitress in question.. not only was she in at work at 11am until she stopped waitressing at about 5pm... but she then took a shift as the bartender for the night until 2am.

So they're mad at ME because I wasn't that busy at night and could have made salads which is NOT my responsibility on Sundays? The first off waitress was working ALL DAY. She wasn't busy by the time I got there and she wasn't busy by the time I left either. She had plenty of opportunities to do her side work.

So I'm going to have to sign this stupid write up slip, but I really don't think any of this is my fault at all.

I bet they're not even really writing the first waitress up considering the owner is sponsoring her so she can get an education in America. She's basically the owner's Swedish "daughter". Lucky me, right?

work, go die in a fire
