Christmas (Eve)

Christmas Eve- I hung around the house all day Christmas Eve, in sort of a bad mood. I'm not sure what I was upset about really. Things got heated at seven when I had assumed we'd all be going with Dad for the candlelight Christmas service. I guess the plan was really to go with Mom. Miles and Nick got in a fight with me where they said that I was turning my back on my family as of late, and listed examples that, like usual, made no sense. I argued back that, unlike them, I have a church that I feel like I belong to and always go to church things with Dad. Basically I was just done with dealing with them, especially Nick. He even yelled and swore at me on Christmas morning. I've decided that, though cold, I'm just going to try to estrange him as much as I can when I go back to school. Even now I don't talk to him much at home and try to avoid him. He's just some belligerent, swearing, arrogant brother who I have nothing in common with. So, I'm done.

I was really frustrated, so I went jogging at eight, and wound up breaking into the quarry. It was really cool to be on the bottom of the pool and see things from such a low angle. The Christmas service was nice. I saw a lot of people I hadn't seen since last Christmas, so it was comforting.

Christmas was relaxing and uneventful. I got a lot of CD's and the poster and jacket I wanted, but not the two things I was expecting to get (Latin book, calligraphy kit), still I was happy. We ate breakfast at mom's and watched Godzilla (ゴジラ) at Dad's. There was no Shella, as she was in S. Africa unfortunately. Graham called, though. It was nice to talk him. I really do miss him and Rachel :( Around mid afternoon we went to Connie's. I had to ride with Nick in the car, and I was really afraid we'd get into some crazy fight again. Fortunately, we didn't. Grandma and Grandpa arrived with Nick and Miles. They're getting on in their years, but it's still nice to see. They look a lot better than some old people. We talked in the living room for a while until dinner. Connie served homemade lasagna. Dad brought the salad. Everything was just perfect. Dad took Grandma and Grandpa home after dinner. The rest of us watched Bride and Prejudice, an Indian and British take on Pride and Prejudice. There was even a William Darcy in it. Sayeed from Lost was in it and danced amazingly. Nick left after the flick. The rest of us played Boggle, which might just be my new favorite game.

I got back home around ten and chatted with Aimee online. All in all, it was a nice Christmas, but I can't help but feeling that as I grow older the magic is fading...
