Thanksgiving- Schindler Style

I woke up at ten thirty something yesterday morning. Aimee was coming to pick me up at eleven. So, needless to say I was late, but managed to clean up quickly, I guess. It was about a twenty minute drive to Aimee's grandparents' house in Elburn, which I'd been to once before. We all hung out for a while and ate venison and brie until Aimee's uncle Rick arrived with his twins sons, Aaron and Eric. They were Aimee's age. Even though Aimee and the twins didn't seem to have much in common, I still would've liked to be in her position, as my cousins are so much older than me. Aimee and I entertained ourselves throughout the day by playing ping pong, which Aimee's good at, pool, which were both not so good at, Battleship (she won), Speed (yeah, she won every game), and some other game whose name escapes me. We also doodled in the kitchen. Of course, we had to tear all the doodles into tiny pieces because we were illustrating what each gender's *ahem* downstairs looked like. (it was the continuation of Wednesday's vagina conversation from the train). Dinner was delicious. We ate early at about one o'clock. All of the standards were there, but the stuffing was more like a casserole, the homemade cranberry sauce actually tasted good (take that other people's cranberry sauce), there were noodles served, along with pink cabbage and a cucumber dish that looked like the cousin to the one Dad makes. Later, Aimee, her grandmother, Mrs. Schindler and I ate π in secret in the kitchen (heeheehee). Other events of the afternoon included watching the dog show (Toys are more rat than dog), Zachary showing up (which always makes things more confusing), and sampling the gigantic parfait (so huge).

We left at around six. Aimee was dropped off at Paul's, and I chatted to Aimee's youthful parents about how youthful they are. Returning to my house was a drag. I had to lick and fold tri-fold envelopes for an hour and fifteen minutes. My mom tells me how it's being nice, but I swear she's trying to take over all the days that my friends are home. Today she's having Thanksgiving with Jason's relatives (must escape), tomorrow's her birthday dinner, and Sunday she wants me to go see her orchestra concert (I'm getting out of that). Eventually I was freed and called Aubrey. After a half an hour, Mike, Merika, Aubrey, and Miles were over. We hung out, played some SSBM and watched TV. Tres relaxing.

So, here's what I'm thankful for: my great friends, my opportunity to go to the college of my choice, even if I'm not at it yet, my pets, the great home I live in and the fact that I'm not living on the streets, most of my family, and my faith.

holiday, thanksgiving
