Break

Tuesday night- We did the show and got a good amount of calls! Mike was our guest and we did a fun game show skit! Nick called in!

Jake's mom picked me and Miles up later to go to his house. We messed around on the computer and played some DDR. When we started watching TV, I fell asleep instantly (and before eleven, even). We woke up and played some video games and ate. It was simple, but fun. It was good to go to Jake's (it's been forever). Paul picked us up and I had him over. We played video games and I got mad at Nick who was acting like a jerk/himself...I can't always tell the difference. Basically, I didn't enjoy his company for the whole weekend. I went to bed at 5:15.

Thursday: I woke up at 4:45 and played Zelda on my Gameboy, then I went downstairs and worked on an RPG for RPG maker for an hour and a half that never saved (I didn't really care though). Later, Miles woke up and we played video games. I was mad about the car all morning (my frustration over the crashed car became a theme of the weekend) and yelled at Nick. Dad came at 12:45 and we left for Wilmet. I felt kind of lousy about being so hung up on a car on Thanksgiving. I read "Ringu: Birthday" a manga prequel to the Japanese version of "The Ring". It was good, but the creepiness it was trying to portray really didn't work well in a comic format. It was more confusing than creepy. We got to Uncle Marc's house and settled in. They got rid of their couch (well, actually, it's in Maine, now) and had a sort of oversized love seat now. We snacked on Appetizers (I'm not even going to try to spell h'oer d...or whatever) and talked with Uncle Marc, Nicole, and Aunt Kathy (though each of them kept dissapearing into the kitched at different times to glaze and check on the turkey). Dinner was REALLY good, save that there wasn't any canned cranberry sauce. I was thankful for being with my family and having such bountiful food to eat, though. We talked about Kirstin and Colin, NIU, a kid with many excuses named Kevin, and bread rules. That one kept coming up! How to butter and cut break and so forth. It was nice to see Nicole. I can't believe she's 32, though!! Desert was also good and Aunt Kathy brought Alfie (is that his name), the parrot, out. Parrots really are interesting and cool!!

We later retired to the living room and let the dogs down. We talked some more and Nicole just portrayed such an aura of success in life and hard work. I really respected her and it just makes me want to grow up and succeed all that much faster. Eventually, we said our goodbyes and left.

Miles taught me simple French verb conjugations in the car and I taught him Latin ones. It was enjoyable! I can say them...though I'm not sure if I can spell them...

Friday- I woke up and watched a fourties movie about a bookish librarian being picked by a photographer to be the new face of a fashion magazine. They all wound up singing a "Bonjour Paris" song! I called Merika and we drove out to the Arcada to a free Christmas concert where Aimee's dance troupe would be performing. Dough Gabriel was selling drinks and popcorn! The Arcada really is beautiful and it dissapointed me that I haven't been there more often. We listened to many different musicians, including a family that all plays brass. We even sang along to some songs. It was a tad early for Christmas though, at least for me.
Eventually, 6th position came on. They were really good. I like the second song a lot because of the weird two fingered pose that they did. The third song was my favorite, though, because of the great music. I love how creative and inovative dance can be. During the costume changes, Dana came on and talked/stalled. Merika and I remarked that she was quite good at stalling. We tried to look couple-y during the performance to dispell the Zachary+Aimee rumors, but I don't think the girls noticed...

We got antsy towards the end of the show because Merika was afraid she'd be late to work, so we dashed off after the last group (which sang FOREVER!!!). After she drove me home, I hung out for a while, and tried to call friends. Not many people were home, so Aimee and Sam came over and we planned the show. Then, I just hung out for the rest of the night.

family, outing, thanksgiving
