c. When guessed, bold the line, include the character name, and write a sentence about why you like that character.
(Okay, so some of these aren't fandoms, per se. More like series that I really, really like.)
1. Harry Potter -- Remus Lupin. I'm pretty sure that everyone on my flist knows that one. :P But seriously. Remus is kind, intelligent, insightful, and remarkably stable given everything that's happened to him, which is especially notable given the other members of his generation that we've seen. And his flaws are just so fascinating, too.
2. the Whedonverse (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) -- Spike. And Spike-as-he-actually-is, not the fandom fwuffy-bunny Spike. He's snarky, sexy, British, badass, and more fun than a barrelful of monkeys. And did I mention sexy? Because -- mrrow.
3. Dune
4. Lord of the Rings -- Sam. Oh, Sam. I think that he's the real hero of the books -- his (platonic, thank you) devotion to Frodo is great enough to overcome all the obstacles in his way, and his journey as a character is wonderful -- he manages to hold onto the good in the world even right in the thick of despair. Awwh.
5. Star Wars (original trilogy)
6. Phantom of the Opera (novel, not musical)
7. Veronica Mars

9. Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice -- Darcy Mmm, Darcy. I'm going to keep this as coherent and non-fangirly as possible. (Or at least, I'll try.) He's cool. He's witty. He's drool-worthy...and there I go into fangirl land. Excuse me for a second.
10. Wicked (favorites for book and musical are different) -- Elphaba (musical). I like her a lot in the book, too, but she's just great in the musical. She's snarky, yet idealistic, she has a lot of strong convictions, but she's human enough that she doubts herself on a pretty constant basis, and she has the most awesome catfight ever with Glinda.
11. Les Miserables (musical)

13. Ender's Game series
14. Othello
15. Tamora Pierce (total guilty pleasure author)
