I just found out that an old classmate of mine from elementary school, Rendell Kemp, passed away last August. He just crossed my mind randomly about a half hour ago, and I Googled his name out of curiosity, and found his obituary. Even though I was never very close to him, I still considered him a friend, and this saddens me. But what's bothering me the most is that, no matter how hard I tried and searched, I couldn't find any info on the cause of death. But I did find out that he was engaged and had two daughters. If I feel like this, even after almost 20 years, I can't even begin to imagine what they must be going through. Definitely going to pray for them. My heart goes out to them and the rest of his family and friends. R.I.P., Rendell. See you in Heaven someday.
Also found out a few weeks ago that one of my favorite TV personalities as a kid, Jack Horkheimer, died in 2010. He was the host of a long-running, weekly, five-minute astronomy show on PBS called Star Gazer (formerly known as Star Hustler). It aired at midnight throughout the week, and I used to stay up on Saturday nights to watch it, sometimes with my dad. Very sad about that. R.I.P., Mr. Horkheimer. Thank you for the memories, and for encouraging me to "keep looking up." Indeed, I will, thanks in large part to you.
