It's almost that time again, huh...

Not to be selfish, but I don't suppose there's any way to get my chip out again...?

If you need any more help, Mr. Smith, give me a call. I don't think I'll be out of here anytime soon.

sucks being semi-normal, harman smith, chip

I've wondered much the same thing. I don't want to be caught unaware, the next time that creature makes a move.

That creature?

I believe it's called Nightmare? Destroyed a section of wall at the school? Attacked people?

Oh, that. Yes, it certainly would be irritating to get caught out unprepared by that guy.

How'd you get it out the first time?

A doctor took it out. They were a bit easier to get out, at the time. Everyone knew where it was.

You... had it out before...

[An uncomfortable pause follows.]

Um... Why do you want your chip out, Mr. Wolfwood?

...

I don't like feeling so weak. That's all.

I don't think you're weak at all.

Hah... it's nice that you think that. But with this chip in, I'm normal. I hate that. I'm too used to this devil's body.

How is that selfish?

Well, I did have it out once already, and I know there are new arrivals who are itching to get theirs out, right? The only problem is finding the damn thing.

Shit. Then everyone's selfish, or no one is. Seems like most people want it out.

Heh. Then again. Maybe I'm just as selfish for wanting to keep mine.

You've talked with any doctors about this?

That about sums it up, actually.

Not yet. The one who took mine out last time is no longer around, either.

Being selfish isn't necessarily bad.

Maybe not, but it's not the best habit to get into.

You don't seem like the kind of person who'd make it a habit.

What makes you say that?
