SIMPLE PLAN!!!

Woot! Ok so just got back from Simple Plan and I wanna write down all before I forget it all because God know's I have a memory like a fish and I'll forget most of it by tomorrow *goof*.

Warning a bit longish...

So my 3 friends (Nat, Amanda & Alicia) left to go to the city at about 5:15ish because Nat was late in getting to my house. Tardy people...geeze! Alicia managed to be ready by 5 after finishing work at 4:30 but Nat couldn't make it to my house by 5??? Ok I'm only saying that because I know Nat will read this heh :P So yeah, I drove us all to the city and the place where we normally park was full because there was a whole heap of events happening in the city tonight. Something about Soccer at Olympic Park, this huge business conference thingy at Vodafone Arena and Simple Plan at Rod Laver Arena. For all you non-Melbournians, they are all basically right next to each other.

So anyways, we managed to find a really good park in the end because I was just driving along and there was one just across the river. So yeah, we went over and people were still lining up outside. We thought by getting there at like 6, we wouldn't have to que up outside...guess we were wrong. So a short wait later and we were let in. You had to go trade your ticket in for a wrist band but since we didn't care if we were up the front or not we decided to go check out the merchandise first. Well that and Alicia only wore a singlet top because she wanted to buy a t-shrirt and was freezing. I bought myself a hat, wristband and some Simple Plan pins which are really cool. I decided to skip on the t-shirt because I already have 2.

Anyyways...then we had to walk like 1/2 way around the arena just to find the area where you got your wrist bands. We got one, then had to go all the way back around because my sister wanted me to buy her a t-shirt because she was already in the line and couldn't leave. (She'd been an idiot and had been lining up since 2pm that arvo). But she ended up being able to leave the line and got her own t-shirt and we just joined the end of the que. We had to line up at the door for over an hour and 6 failed attempts at a Mexican wave, 2 attempts by Bec to teach them how to do a proper Mexican wave and 3 successful Mexican waves later we were finally let into the arena.

The general admin/ground floor of the arena was divided into 2. Turns out that they had 2 different coloured wrist bands, green and orange. First 1/2 of people to turn up got green, 2nd 1/2 got orange. Green was at the front. So yeah we didn't realise this at first but we had green anyways so it didn't matter. Our plan was just to go in and stand where we were comfortable and could see. We didn't really feel like being squashed and smelling people sweat for the whole concert. But because of the barrier, we were able to stand in comfort but only be about 1/3 of the way back by the time all the people had pushed up towards the front :D It was way awesome. We had a great view. Kinda felt bad for the people in the 2nd 1/2 because they wanted to bad to be up close and we didn't care too much. But ahh well, if you get there 15 mins before the doors (not gates) open then tough luck.

Kisschasy was first. I love their album but had never heard them live. But mann...if they're ever playing a show locally again I'm so going to see them. They were awesome live especially because like the majority of the audience had no idea about any of their songs they still did a really good job. It was kinda hard to jump around and get too into it though because my friends didn't know their music and were just kinda standing there. That sucked, but they all agreed that they play really well live. Do-Do's and Woah-oh's went off! I think mainly because people actually knew that song.

The All-American Rejects played next. I used to like some of their old stuff, but I think out of a set of 8 or 9, I only knew 2 songs. Still the songs I did know were good. I swear the lead singer was drunk or something though LOL. He was just...werid. But by then our legs were already tired from all the standing and Simple Plan still hadn't started. They were a little funny though...they're like "scream if you have our record (ahh American slang...)" a few people screamed, so then they're like, "scream and pretend you have our album" everyone screamed then lol.

Finally Simple Plan came on and they rocked. I'm not sure how long they played for because my friend was holding my phone but I can't think of any song that I wish they had played that they didn't. I jumped around like nuts and so did Amanda. We had heaps of fun just jumping around but we were so tired after like 2 songs lol. Best song of the night...hmm Addicted was awesome, Perfect was to but that was more a sing-a-long at the end...Shut Up was really good, great opening song and I loved God Must Hate Me, but I think thats just because I love that song. The only one I didn't think was too good was Pefect World...kinda felt like it slowed down the show because the song is a bit slower. They played a couple of non-album (bonus track) songs to, which was really good. It was a good mix of their old hits plus their newer stuff. I had an awesome time just jumping around, screaming like some teeny bopper LOL. One good thing I have to say, because majority of Simple Plan's fans are about 14-18 they're all fairly short so I didn't have too hard a time seeing LOL. My voice is shot now though, my throat is killing me and my ears are still ringing but it was all worth it.

At one stage Chuck got out from behind his drums, which I thought was awesome. Because I hate how the drumer gets negleted sometimes beacuse they're stuck behind the drum kit, but he got up and actually went into the crowd and tried to run up the stairs but peopel were rushing from their seats into the isles and he only got like 1/2 way up before he was mobbed. While he was up there David jumped behind the drums, he's a good drummer to. Their interaction with the crowd was good to. Heh Austranadians...a new race of people part Australian, part Canandian lol. I'll make Austranadians with them! ;)

They did this really cool like hip-hop medaly thing. It was hilarious to see Pierre rapping LOL. They did Snoops, Drop It Like It's Hot among a few others. But yeah that was a really cool part *nod*

Hmm so I think that's all I need to say now...can't think of anything else right now, but yeah it was awesome. Great fun. They say they're coming back next year again...I hope so. It was good fun. And just as I was getting kinda over Simple Plan I'm now re-in-love with them :D

I so wish I had my camera *sigh*. My sister went in early and I thought she took the camera because she'd be at the front and have a better spot for pictures anyways, but I get there and ring her and she says she forgot it. *pout* Grrr...if I knew I would've taken it! Since our spot wasn't bad for pictures either. Ahh well. *sigh*

Well, time to lay out my poster for it to flatten over night (I bought it after the show) and off to bed. I'm knackered.

simple plan, concert
