Summer is smooth grey pebbles and sand and rock pools, jellyfish and crabs captured in a bucket. Sand castles with seashell battlements and seaweed flags.
Summer is fresh air induced hunger that is like no other. Sandy sandwiches, melt in the mouth crumbly jam tarts and blackcurrant squash.
Warm car journeys home, drifting in and out of blue cloud sleep. Summer ends with the soft sleeping cotton of your own bed.
