Okay... I managed to drag this out! Hurray for me, if you aren't already asleep. It's going to be long, because it's two stories in one post, so it's under a cut! I hope you all enjoy it. It was hard for me to write, it had become quite stale. Enjoy!
Mother's Day
It was Mother's Day.
It was a long-standing practice in school for the students to do a sharing about their mothers on this day, and not one student was spared. Ichigo had consequently spent half the night putting together a speech of sorts.
Kokoro, of course, had been prepared well in advance, as was her custom, and was upon the road before Ichigo.
"Morn'." Ichigo mumbled as he caught up with Kokoro. This greeting was barely discernible, being merged together with a yawn and a moan of sorts. Ichigo was not given to formal greetings.
Kokoro gave him an icy look (for what reason this was unclear to him), and they continued on their way.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Morn'." Ichigo mumbled once again, standing before the class. It was his turn to talk about his mother, and he could see Koro staring straight at him, with her back ramrod straight. That made everything worse. Kokoro, he swore in his mind, was paying too much attention.
"My mother is... DO RE MI."
This was, of course, true, everyone roared with laughter anyway. Only Koro's face was straight.
Ichigo's maternal family was of Chinese descent.
It was perhaps pure coincidence that his mother was named 唐铃美, which became Do Reimi in Japanese.
It was perhaps too much of a coincidence that the whole of her family had names associated with the solfège. There was Do Sora (唐空), his uncle, and Do Hara (唐原), his grandfather. Of course, Ichigo had been spared.
The class seemed to find no end to this source of humour. Ichigo had brought a small keyboard to school and was now stupidly grinning and tapping the keys, with a purely crazed look in his eyes. No one saw the teacher stagger out in exasperation. Kokoro had a resigned (and defeated) look.
After a while, the class seemed to lost some of its enthusiasm for Ichigo's antics, and somehow the teacher was back again, calling out names for sharing. Next was Einrich's turn.
As his name suggested, Einrich was No. 1. No. 1 in the class, No. 1 in the level, No. 1 in town, No. 1 in perhaps the whole country. "No. 1 fattest person too," Ichigo thought meanly. Einrich was inclined to taking one to many slices of rich butter cake.
Einrich's mother was a German violinist, extremely well-known across the country and around the world. She had participated in a series of Baroque music-centric competitions when she was pregnant with Einrich, and with all the music it was no surprise that Einrich was pure genius. "A pig of a genius," Ichigo grumbled under his breath.
That was all too true. Einrich was no longer the blonde haired, blue-eyed angelic baby of the past. Now, he was tipping the scales at over a hundred kilograms and counting, with extremely thick glasses.
His glasses had no degrees, of course. Einrich hardly studied; he simply didn't need to. It was a voluntary fashion choice on his part. A bad one, no doubt.
Einrich ended off with a flourish. It was very typical of him. Kokoro was next, and she proceeded to the front of the class with supreme dignity and poise (somehow). Ichigo proceeded to nod off, and the day passed in a series of dreams.

The Pendant
Kokoro found herself looking into the glass windows of the departmental mall for the 50th time in the day.
Behind the window there was the thing that every girl in town coveted. The Rhinestone Maiden Secret Pendant.
This was undoubtedly a precious and prestigious piece of jewelery (to the little girls in the town elementary school). It was, for starters, as big as a goose's egg. It was pink. It had a piece of pink crystal (plastic, of course) encrusted in rose gold (not really gold). It was studded with rhinestones around its perimeter.
It was 6 dollars. For a child with an allowance of ten cents per week, it was legendary. It was sacred.
Kokoro had scrimped and saved for a very long time to collect the whole series of Rhinestone Maiden jewelry. She had the rubies in full, the sapphires with one still to go, and the emeralds with a few short. But now all that was of no consequence. Now was the time of the Rhinestone Maiden Secret Pendant, the only pink piece of jewelry in the entire set.
Now, it wouldn't have mattered normally. Kokoro was used to saving up money to buy the Rhinestone Maiden jewelry sets. But it mattered now.
The Rhinestone Maiden Secret Pendant was a limited edition piece. The race to get one was a bloody one. The girls no longer stopped if there was the ice-cream man's bell. They didn't look at pretty trinkets. All eyes (female ones) were on the pink pendant lying behind the glass window. So was Koro's.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All the girls in class were crying. There had been a horrible rumour.
Carla Jeine, the infamous Carla Jeine, had gotten her hands on the coveted Rhinestone Maiden Secret Pendant.
They had been defeated by the sheer power of money. Carla's father was an oil tycoon, and he had bought over the pendant without much a thought.
This was, of course, cheating. The rule was that one had to buy the pendant with one's own savings. The creators of the jewelry set had good intentions at heart; they aimed to cultivate the good practice of saving money in the little children of the town. Carla had cheated, but there was no way to prove so.
There was nothing the girls could do.

Well... I hope I can churn out one about Yuuhi next time. I have a few amazing ideas and all, but they need working on - they are very rough still! But I still have one surprise here:
It's Reina Maria! PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE enlarge!
I hope you found that extremely cool, because I do. :) I spent quite some hours on it, mostly cleaning up the image on Photostudios. The lines are a pain. I drew the head very long ago (a month ago maybe?) and the body was drawn today. :)
I hope you like the coloring too. I'm afraid the hair is plain crapwork, but I like the eyes. xDDDD
Nights, then!
