Happy New year everyone!
So it's the start of a brand-spanking-new year which always seems to me like fresh snow, all sparkling and crisp, awaiting that very first footprint. Last year I planned to make a big impact on the year by doing something different. I started by having my hair cut really short for the first time in 15 years. Then I went and had my first tattoo done which I had been meaning to do for years, but I kept putting it off on the grounds that I couldn't afford it, couldn't find the perfect tattoo for me etc, etc, etc. Finally I found the right tattoo which is a white tiger and a chinese dragon with a ying-yan symbol in the background. The white tiger represents my son whose chinese horroscope is the tiger, the dragon represents my daughter whose chinese horoscope is the dragon. The masculine/feminine aspect of the ying-yan symbol represents the gender of my children. Those are the only two footprints I made in the metaphorical snow of last year before everyday life crept in and stampeded across my clean snow in a willy-nilly of random footprints that aren't particularly distinctive... Except maybe Flint who has made his own prints in my life this year, and maybe I made some in his life too :)
This year I hope to make some new footprints, ones that will stand out in my life for years to come... unfortunately I haven't quite decided where to place my feet yet!
happy new year,
