Gokudera paused from pouring hot water on his cup. He turned around and noticed (only now) Shouichi leaning against the counter, cup in hand.
Seems like he wasn’t the only one in the mood for hot chocolate.
“What are you talking about?” he asked, and resumed making his drink.
“Just like now.” Shouichi began. “I bet you only noticed me when I spoke.”
Gokudera chuckled. “Can’t say I didn’t.”
“See.”
“That doesn’t mean I hate you.”
Shouichi’s eye twitched. “Then what?”
Gokudera shrugged and gave Shouichi the kettle. He was smirking. “Guess.”

When Gokudera saw Gamma talking to the Uni ‘he knew,’ he couldn’t help but feel pain on his chest. The adoring looks of the little girl, and Gamma’s gentle smiles…it was sickening. So different from the Gamma he knew, the Gamma that loved him, that he averted his gaze and walked away.
If only he didn’t tell him that he loved him. If only he didn’t whisper his name in his sleep. If only he didn’t allow this dead-end relationship, then he wouldn’t be sad.
He knew Gamma sees him as a replacement.
And that just suits him fine…

“Where? Heaven?” Gokudera asked, as he blew the smoke towards the stars.
Basil nodded, and he, too, blew the smoke upwards.
Gokudera tapped the ashes from his cigarette. “I don’t believe in heaven.”
Basil averted his gaze from the sky to look at Gokudera. “He became a star, then?”
Gokudera grinned. “Yeah.”
After that, neither of the two spoke, and just continued to send smoke towards the heavens.
Like a burned letter.
Or a wish.
Or a prayer.

All of that, he didn’t, wouldn’t ever want to do, but he did it,

Gokudera was about to suggest a matchmaker when he noticed the man looking at him. “WHAT THE HELL?!”
