Hi! This is just a short post, 'cause I don't have much time but after watching the cuts of Pi's concert I wanted to post this~
So, I've written this before but I had this song almost ready, actually, it was already done but I was not sure about being sure with my try. But, after watching the cut from the concert with Kame as the guest, I just wanted to give it another look and ended up almost not changing it at all~ just a little bit, the most difficult stanza to English-word! so bear with the probable mistakes but I'm pretty not-sure at times... either way, I got kanji from here, as usual.

The lyrics of this song are a collaboration between Pi and Kame, so you can't ask for more than this! Lol, tbh this song didn't call my attention that much after the first listenings of UNLEASHED, I'm a little of a slow listener, especially with ballads, but this is such a great song~
So, this song was so hard to 'word' in English LOL, I couldn't do it, I have so many tries for almost each sentence, especially the one with the play of the fingers, which is sooo beautiful in imagery in Japanese, but, in English was a nightmare to produce, of course, for me~
But I totally enjoyed the lyrics, I love this idea of a young and a bit of a bittersweet love who is almost on the verge of crashing each time, because drama and age lol, but still he says, if this goes down, I'm falling with you. I read from somewhere that this is ' a medium ballad "Dancer" which co-produced lyrics with Kamenashi Kazuya (KAT-TUN), a sweet and sour youth love song '.
Just a few notes on the actual translation
- I love the imagery of the sand and the snow and how they are pretty unstable.
- When light is cast into your eyes it supposedly projects a shadow. That's for the part of the shadow in the pupils and I think it refers that there are some things that you can't hide with your pupils, they'll give you away with certain emotions, idk, this just reminded me of that.
- The difficult stanza with the sweet love words, well I think this verse is just brilliant in Japanese and conveys so freaking much, but it was hellish to put into English words, so the final n-th time I tried this is what turned out, and I'm kind of satisfied with...But in the little highlighted verse, I decided to leave like a more literal translation, they're making a play between 'sweet' and 'bitter', he wasn't that good at confessing I guess, because what should have been sweet words, turned out to be a little bitter... I kind imagine that with Pi, LOL.
- The part with the crying, I didn't know which pronoun to use, but, and this is the other thing I changed from my try from months ago, since in the past when they fall in love, she was laughing then now at the present I guess it's her, the other party, the one who cries.
Once again, sorry about the wording, I love this song to bits and I wish I could have done a better job because I especially love the lyrics.
This is unrelated but the performance with Kame as the guest was super cute! After singing Kame was super super cute saying he was nervous and shaking with his first phrase, which kind of sounds like it's true, lol. And Pi got this cute smile on his face, he has such a cute smile~ Kame was super funny and it's like a little bit or lots less awkward than Pi, LOL, either way, don't trust me, it's just my impression, I haven't seen much or anything on them in concert tbh. But after this, I can see why their interaction still lasts, because it feels natural and it's easy to see and pretty cute~
And about their singing, well, I think Kame vocals are better and he got just the right verses and did them so well, I highlighted my favorite part and that's Kame going higher than Pi's original and it sounds amazing!
