Perfect Night ♪ - Arashi - Doors ～... Single
Hi! So, today is the release date for Arashi's 53rd single called, Doors ～勇気の軌跡～, or Doors as I'll call it from now on haha. And I'll leave here some of my impressions on this single and the song I chose to translate this time :D
Click to viewOkay, I don't have much time now, but I think I'll edit this later, but I wanted to post my try for this single. But first, I want to say that I love this single to bits, I like all the songs, Doors is such a cute encouraging song, it's just the kind of songs I love from them and I'm never tired of this type of song. Now or never is very different but super cute and fun to watch with the PV, I couldn't stop grinning while watching these 5 men being that cute! lol. I love Border too! I like how it starts, it reminds me of another Arashi song, the start I mean, but I don't have time to google the name and I'm terrible with names! Winter Days is very different but still so enjoyable and finally the one that I chose to try to translate, and this is because it was my favorite besides the single after the initial listening. Maybe because of the music, I just love this sort of music, Perfect Night~.
So, here is my try after two days of struggling with it...well you know I can take two days because I'm on the other side of the world lol... And I got the kanji from here~

[T/N]: I like a lot the fact that this is a short song, 3'50'', and I also love how they divided the lines among the members, especially the fact that Jun-kun is starting this song <3 and the final line is super cute!!. And about the actual translation, well, it was really hard. I couldn't understand what the song was exactly about and the always problematic pronouns!! The dilemma of which to use! So, this is my best try, and as always this is tinted with my own personal interpretation trailing all my cultural background, so I'm really sorry about the possible mistakes.
And about the theme, I think what's clear is the past, most of the stanzas tell this story of a moment in the past, so I kind of guess it's something that happened in the past and it's happening no more but with a slight hope of happening again? Maybe, that would be the perfect night. LOL, 'm rambling these nonsensical things... later I'll be ashamed if someone actually reads this haha gomen! Either way, I loved this song, it has some trails that make me think of other songs, such as the boat from one of my fave songs 'Full of Love', but maybe it's just me and my recurrent theme, so, let me know what you think :D
Oh, and there were many sentences that seemed disconnected as describing a situation... I tried my best to connect them, as for example the drink part... after a while, I started thinking that maybe the waves referred to the liquid in the drink?? Well, I sometimes overthink.. and about the doubtful pronouns this time I chose to go with the first person in the plural, so I don't struggle between 'I' or 'you' haha but I think this song is dedicated to a 'you' because of Matsujun's initial line. And this time I left some words in brackets, it's not in the original like that, it's just me trying to explain a little more the meaning...just that.
