Today a piece of my mind dropped in a traditional way. (^.^)b (I started this draft in paper!) So, if I was wondering if a certain person had more than one facial expression, then the answer is ahead in the cut. (._.)
So, today I spent a whole amount of time reading reviews connected to the issue related to this specific entry. There are a lot of passionate ones. I end up exhausted, and with a lot of thoughts in mind. How should I face this particular one? Let's try to reach to an answer then...

Ok, as promised I gave Yamapi another shot and to tell you the truth it was worth.
This dorama's story is about highschool days and how confusing those days are. While struggling the main characters need to figure out about their future and goals in life, as well as the type of person they want to become once grown up. It's also about friendship mainly. And it's a nice example of a good way to tell a normal story that looks real (^_^)
About the 'weirdos'
The story is told from the point of view of Shuji , Kamenashi Kazuya*my first dorama from him, introducing Kamenashi...*, he is the typical cool guy, the leader, the popular guy. But from the beginning we can see that highschool is more like a game for him, he's just trying to portray this image. Even thought at home he's more like the normal type of guy that takes care of his younger brother and sews things. * BTW ototo is just cuteness, he's screaming Jhonnys all over the place. Is it like a requirement, right? * Well, getting back to Shuji, he is good playing the cool guy, 'cause even he is a lier most of the time, he is a good guy. And this makes me want to tell Yamapi, this is the way to play a cool guy!, you can and should have more than one and only one expression!
So, good first impression about Kame, (^_^) cute smile, cute hair, to make it short cute guy.

The main girl is played by Horikita Maki, yes, again Horikita Maki. I should give her a tag, maybe I should after this. Nobuta, that's her nickname. She is an extremely shy girl, in a similar way as Sawako, kind of creepy. She is new at school and soon is the main subject for bullying because of the way she looks, speaks, walks... well, pretty much everything about her is scary. Maki does a very good job, I think her smile was the best part. Maybe this is my fave perf from her. This and the Story of my family were really better than Tokujo Kabachi! or Hana Kimi.

In this moment I thought how fun should be working with these guys
And finally Akira (=^_^=). The first time I saw him I thought he wasn't at all fine in his head. Yamapi: I literally would take off my hat in front of your acting, if I had one. "Akira shock" (°口°；) will get stuck into our brains. I think this was a risky character. Akira has so many antics that could make this character extremelly annoying to the point of inspiring hatred, yet Yamapi on the other hand makes you fall for his tenderness and to follow him in his crazyness, making those antics funny and incredible catchy. Akira is so naturally charming, endering and ridiculously adorkable to a point that would break any limit. He shows us so many faces that I've never imagined Yamapi was able to do. Awesome. Period. (≧▽≦)

About the 'background'
I didn't dislike any secundary character or plot, it's nice how they balance the show and give a credible yet interesting background. Shuji's family is great, beyond confortable. His father, as well as all the adults, are portrayed like if they were just grown ups, with many flaws and desires, just as when they were young except that they have more responsibilities.
Shuji's brother, as previously stated is adorable, really adorable o(^¡^)o. His mother is like one of the few mothers if not the only one that exists in the plot, but comes and goes. That's something weird.

At school, you can see the teachers as persons with backgrounds and dreams frustrated or accomplished, but as real people rather than unapproachable authorities. The head-chief, is it? is just a blast of crazyness but you can see how she cares about her students the most.
The classmates, well, they made me recall so much my highschool days, the moments that get to be portrayed the most are the ones when the characters arrived to the classroom, you can see how the groups are formed and they seem to ignore any outsider. I love how even though the 3 main characters are in differents status, they share looks, glances, smiles, it's like there were the three of them only, it's beautiful how we are shown that. BTW Erika Toda is on this as well, I hate how I always want to hate her, and yet she ends up being a very reasonable character!
Why I always want to dislike you?
The soya guy and the librarian are also interesting characters, as well as Akira's dad, just grown ups with money issues.
Soya guy seems to be the only one that understands Akira!
About the argument
The two male characters out of boredom and/or pity decide to "produce" this weird girl. But the "produce" goes way beyond from just a hair cut and clothes changing, because they get to discover the real people under the masks that everyone uses to hide. I love how in the end, the ones that were changed the most are themselves. We can see a growth specially in Shuji's character, he realizes about the people that really matters yet he manages to balance his natural abilities to get on well with everyone. Nobuta project is a little bit left behind near the end, as we focus mainly on the characters and their friendship, but we can see how she also transforms in this more confident girl.

About the sceneries & stuff
The neighbourghood and school are really portrayed in detail. The sceneries are beautiful. The angles of the camera give us the impression of being living those very moments with the protagonists. The moments on the roof of the school are delicious as we feel the intimacy with the main characters and their friendship. The colours are use so nicely making of the 'sora' one of the major mood makers. I loved how it didn't look at all old, or not "actual", even that this is from 2005.

About the 'real' magic
I think one of the best things, if not the best, is the way the story is told, like plain and simple, it exudes youth all over the place. Since the youthfull language; the catch phrases were not at all annoying *even though my first thought was, this is going to annoy me after a while, but then I was just expecting them, the kon-kon, the core te destiny, not that much the bye bye bycicle but... ma bearable*. To the funny situations where the young characters keep bumping with everything!, just like real teenagers would. And to the extreme of being able to portray the angst and uncertainty of that age naturally and truthfully that it almost looks effortlessly.

The chemistry between the three of them is great and you can see it growing through the episodes. You can feel how they are at ease being just the 3 of them, like when at highschool you used to spend the whole day in school with your friends, but after school you still wanted to spend time with them just wasting the time, thinking or just sharing that amazing silence that you share only with the persons you feel confortable with. ^)_(^

To sum up this is just about that, about those years of youth, that all of us, * that have already lived long enough (>_<") to have memories * , always appreciate to recall in a nice way. And I think that's the magic powder itself, this dorama makes you remember what was that experience like, you look back on everything about your own experience and that's it, just like Nino said, when you identify yourself with the characters+situation, then that's it, there is no need for anything else. ( ^.^)( -.-)( _ _) * nodding lol *

That's it, now my marks,
4 and a half out of 5, great performances and a great way to tell a simple story; I'm not telling much about the plot, 'cause is nicer to watch it, and about the ending... well it just didn't bother me, (o_ _)o like at all!, maybe I'm getting used to unexpected endings for my west mind, or maybe it's just that, feeling the chemistry and friendship through the screen is not that bad. And the half star goes directly to Yamapi, just because I was pleasantly surprised, great job!, I loved your Akira, now I'm renewed to see more of your one-face acting or if occasionally you'll let that awesomeness out, then I'll be there 'cause I'll be giving it a shot at least. (ノ≧∇≦)ノ

And because I want everyone to be able to understand the ending * (^o_o^) piggies story (^o_o^) *, which is kind of a mystery if you don't understand Japanese by ear *or just because is not your lang! * * or because you think it is related to the drama, dudh! *, here my trans of the lyrics of the song sang by Yamapi and Kame, or like everyone likes to call them 'Shuji to Akira', and in Spanish, 'cause those 'mi amigo' lines inspired me in such a way to use my mother tongue.
It has this weird vibe that has something of 'latino' plus the part when they sing about that beautiful sora is my best fave part! I would listen to the song so many times *not that I'm doing that right now! (sarcastic look while listening to mi amigo ~~~ヾ(＾∇＾) ) * just to listen that amazing part.
I laughed so hard when I was able to recognize Yamapi's voice, he sounds like forcing or faking his voice, like if we had him near he would spit on us hahahaha lol gomen na Pi, but that's the way I show you my affection, and there is one now, that I've met Akira, arigatou for letting out your inner weirdo, that was the best part, just like in the song, you bear everything else just for that part!

So, that was the end, and to conclude * again (^_-) * a thought that has been tormented me since I started to watch this. And idea,
Kame's cool guy interpretation runs over that weak perf of Yamapi in Buzzer Beat (=_=), but it's not that that was a hard thing to do. Which gives me a good impression of Kame, just to dare watching another of his doramas *already started*, but not as much as to pick Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, or any of the sequels of Jun's doramas, lol.(*^o^*)
But I can't stop just there, 'cause Yamapi's wierdo Akira runs over Kame's acting completely, impressive. All those negative things about him became adorable and more bearable. It's not just about his face, which I highlighted in this post, but also the voice, he doesn't sound monotonous at all and the body language, he is Akira. And even more important, thanks for listening to my request and keep your shirt on! Arigatou na! (*^O^*)ハ
