Natsu no Hydrangea - Sexy Zone
Hi! I'm still alive, well, it's been a while, right? ... Today, really early was SexyZone Anniversary Tour 2021 SZ10TH FINAL, that's a long name, right?
It was amazing, so fun, so, this brings me to this post.
Click to viewLately, I've been super busy, and hardly had time to do normal stuff after finishing my job activities...so, it's been crazy hard. But, since I was able to watch this concert, I decided that I wanted to give this a new try...I mean I know I'm bad at this but I enjoy doing this a lot, plus I do have a couple of things I want to post, eventually here and I might as well start with this. This is the next release from Sexy Zone ... and despite I was committed to avoid doing unreleased songs, due to mainly having inaccurate and incomplete lyrics in the past, this was solved in the concert~ so, here is my try, I love this song, it makes me want to go under the rain,...wait no, it's Winter here, I hate being in the opposite season LOL, either way, let's go with the song with the flowers with a super difficult name in English. I'll update with the lyricist and composer later, I think and below I'll add the little message before the song, which was super cute and made me want to do this, despite all~ Sorry about mistakes

[T/N]: So, let me see, well... there are a couple of notes here... but it's been so long I don't even know how to do this.
- First of all, I usually try to join the English words with the stanza, but this time I left all the hydrangea as the person was talking directly to it, like the metaphor of calling the girl a hydrangea because I liked that idea and that was the first thing I thought about when listening to Kenty, so that's how the lyrics turned out in English.
- Second, if you're like me, and know nothing about plants, lol, sorry, well hydrangeas bloom during the rainy season, that's the reason for all the references to rain in the song.
- Right, I tried to keep the order but was really hard, especially in the sentences with the part of not having an umbrella... so... it's changed, but I think in this way flows better in English. Though, I kept the reference of who is the heroine by the end as an emphasis, because the order in Japanese is different, and I usually want to respect it.
- Koi 恋 and Ai 愛, it's the stanza when he calls here his first love, but in the way, like the first time you fall in love like it could be when you're a child, it doesn't mean you actually "love" that person in a mature and passionate way. So, he basically says that these feelings of falling in love, he knows will become into love, actually, it's English's fault for not having enough words for the different types of love, lol.
- And last, two things, I don't like the expression of "first and last" girl or heroine in this case, I think it doesn't transmit well the idea in English, it's my impression, I know, I don't like it translated like this in doramas and so on, either way, so, I usually pick to use "one and only". And the other one is, that the lyrics say "no matter how many seasons pass" but ShoriShori sings "no matter how much time it passes", a very used device in lyrics, it's pointed out above how the word should be read. But I preferred to leave it just as "seasons" since the flower is a flower of a certain season...but again, I know nothing about plants.
Okay, that being said, I'm sure this will be translated in many ways by other people and all of them surely better, even in the English subtitles from the dorama, so... this is just to show my love for the song and the concert and the lyrics. Because it's a beautiful song and I think it goes so beautifully with the dorama... and well... that's it.
And right, the message when the tour was ending was as it follows:
To all the Sexy Lovers around Japan, thank you for always supporting us.
First of all, we were able to do a national tour after approximately 2 years
along with restrictions and worries,
but in this way, we were able to share our time with every one of you around the country.
It made us really happy.
Especially, we think we were able to finish our tour because each one of the Sexy Lovers was taking precautions to prevent the infection on a daily basis.

That was just too sweet. And I want to be able to smile tomorrow and I'm thankful for all the smiles you gave me today during the concert. I don't know what else to say, they looked great, there's no part, segment, song I can think of as something that was out of place or that made me want to skip that part. For anniversary concerts, it's usually hard to convey something meaningful for new fans and I'm always sure that old fans enjoy such concerts so much more. In the case of other groups, I rather watch non-anniversary concerts because of that, but with SZ, I think I lost, their songs, previous concerts, and history were already familiar to me and I enjoyed this concert fully. I tried to avoid crying and screaming because it was around 6 am here, but Shori and Sou ... and Mari made this really hard. I'm so happy I was able to enjoy the concert and that's it. I don't hope much more for them... I've learned my lesson with Arashi, haha I just want to see what new sceneries we would be able to share in the future.
