Hello! I'm trying to catch up with most of the songs I had pending from last year, and this is a very special one.




So, this is a very special song within O Album, an original album for Kinki Kids after 4 years, I think it is. It's amazing they've already reached letter O!
The song is almost complete on this Youtube video, I'm sorry, I can't see this as normal LOL.

This song is written by Tsuyopon, so I had a hard time, as usual, music by Mashiko Tatsuro, he's worked together with KK for many songs such as chigau michi, onaji sora or Harmony of December and many other Jhonnys' groups as well. I got kanji from here, and here's my try, and as usual, I want to apologize for any mistakes, this is Domoto Tsuyoshi's lyrics, so it was hard for me to translate~ More talking about the song later

Well, I'm really a little lost and I don't know what to say. There were so many things happening during 2020 and I think this song puts into words a little bit of the hope we all share about this new year.
As usual with Tsuyo I have many notes, but let's start with a little context for this song, which I think was kind of what I wanted to do in the first paragraph haha. Now, I'll write a little about what they talked about during the MC of their concert, ☆ KinKi Kids O New Year Concert 2021 ☆, which was broadcasted.

This is a song Tsuyo wrote during the time of State of Emergency in Japan, which started around April 20'. He said he was wondering about how the future will turn after this situation, even if it's something we usually do, during those days he really felt the uncertainty, so he tried writing a song. Since he had the time he tried conveying his true feelings, which were also loaded with negative thoughts, but he realized he had to change those with a view of looking forward and that's how this song was born.
Then he goes and asks Koichi how he spent those days, and Koichi replied he suntanned at his veranda, which of course, reminded me of his youtube video!!
Then Tsuyo said they really wanted to have their concert, in any form (KK usually has a concert by the end of the year). Then Koichi said that this was a situation that went across generations and for people all over the world. Then he reflected on the lyrics, that even though it fits our present, each day is like that, like a new era, a new day.
Tsuyo said that in this way they're connected to the fans (broadcast/digital concert) in a new way, also that this allowed new people to watch their concerts. Yes! And then they proceeded to sing the song in an even more beautiful way, their voices, the instruments, their live version is somehow more beautiful.

So, now, on notes, let's see,

- the second stanza, I don't know, but this sounded just so fitting for these days, and especially during the worst part of the lockdown, whenever you are now

- Tsuyo does this a lot, not only him, but he always does this, lol, to use a word but sing another, the lyrics say 'poem' but they sing 'song', and it's not just in one part, so I chose to put the singing between brackets, both words are meaningful to the song, and having both of them it's like having a better understanding of the lyrics.

- I had the worst part during the songs that depart, and I'm sorry I switched it here lol, the written part is within brackets, and after thinking a lot about this, and without arriving at a clear result, I decided to use the word 'singing' for '鳴き', this verb is usually used for the cry of an animal especially, but I have also seen it translated as singing, so I decided to make this choice. Oh and also in this stanza he uses planet but sings star, this is widely used in ... actually most songs XD
Now, about the meaning of this, is he talking about death? and people departing this planet full of singing/cries, Tsuyo often portrays his belief of rebirth in many of his songs, so maybe in part, he's alluding to that.

- Later the two words are Earth and boat, like a boat reaching its port safely, in this case, that'd be love.

And that's it, what do you think about this song? I love how he often also writes about loneliness and going beyond it, I like to think that his hopeful thoughts prevailed and reflected in this song~



So, now about this album, I want to try translating another song! I have so many songs translated from this album since it has many singles, haha, I'll link them someday in the future... lol. So, there are a couple of songs written and composed by Dōjima, we have 彗星の如く which has an MV and you can watch here the short version, isn't that amazing? XD he also wrote DEEP DIVE and the lyrics for Slash that has its music by Tsuyo, another highlight is 感情愛情CRAZY which was written by Anna Takeuchi. And my favorite ones after this one, probably and beside the singles, lol, are actually the two bonus tracks for the Regular Edition: "100 Nengo no Sora ni wa Nani ga Mierundaro" and "STARS". And I think that was it. I wanted to write this post sooner, but life happened, by that I mostly mean ARASHI, I miss ARASHI just so much, I'm watching the replay of TIA concert this Saturday with my friend, and tbh I want to enjoy it this time. The first time I was so worried about many things and so emotional, so now that's over, I want to enjoy their last concert previous hiatus. I miss Jun!!
