Lera likes stout (dark beer). Especially she likes Guinness.
She tasted Guinness canned in Slavutich (but brewed Dublin as it wrote on a can) and said it tastes not so good as the original one. Even if they make it from the same products supplied from Ireland but at least they use local Ukrainian water.
Not so far ago our friends brought us a can of Guinness Original from London.
Some days ago we did blind degustation. We bought can of Guinness made on Slavutich for test.
Guinness Original from London on the left, Guinness Draught from Slavutich on the right.
I poured half a glass Guinness Original and one more of Guinness Draught while Lera did not see it. Her mission was to determine which of them is Irish. Have to say she guessed it right! On the other hand while she drank it right from the can she admitted they tasted almost the same.
As from my point of view Guinness Original tastes very light and smooth such as our local lager (bright beer). From the other side I used that stout should taste stronger and a little bit smoky. So I have to say that Guinness Draught tastes like it ought to! It means that Ukrainian Guinness (Draught) does not tastes worth than Irish (Original), it’s just tastes different.

That is why there was no plastic ball in can of Irish stout and it was less fizzy, almost without a foam. See more about it here
