Well, I'm only a casual fan of Chuck myself (haven't watched all of the last season either, oops), but the main character (Chuck) has been plugged into/made into an Intersect, where he can "search" his brain for almost anything. Like become a kung-fu fighter at a moment's notice, or know random facts.
That's really the only "gadget" sort of thing I can think of, but perhaps someone who is more up on the show will pipe up.
And now I'm wondering if I'm not getting mixed up with the part in the Matrix where Keanu Reeves goes "I know kung-fu," but it's sort of the same thing in Chuck.
Awesome! You guys are amazing! I should be able to use all this. He thinks Sarah is very pretty, so I might get her to give him the brain upload thing, and the car quote is perfect. Thank you!!!
Sarah only came around *after* Chuck got the Intersect in the first place (she was Bryce's former partner at the CIA, IIRC), although I think he got a new version at some point, but I don't remember how Chuck got that one. Bryce was Chuck's friend from college, IIRC. (There is a whole sub-plot with the Intersect & Chuck's Dad...aka Scott Bakula, but I think this is probably too getting too complex for your purposes. XD)
Chuck also worked at Buy More for several seasons as an associate - a knock-off of Best Buy/Circuit City/big-box electronic store.
Hopefully some of this will be useful. I'm sure your bf will appreciate you trying to find out more about a show he likes, regardless.
