Okay, so I just bought this month's issue of SFX and there was an article about what's in store for season 2 of Chuck.
taking into account that the first season finished early because of the writer's strike this is what was said.
"Rather than coming back where they left off, co-creator Josh Schwartz said:'I think the idea is to own the fact that we've been off the air for several months, so there will be a 'reset' and we have to justify Zachary Levi's new strike beard. it will not go quietly into the night. We also want to remind viewers of what they have missed and hopefully bring in some new viewers. it will definately be the Human Growth Hormone version of the show, kicking it up a notch with new characters and new villians.'
Chris Fedak said - 'We were really surprised by how much people were engaged by the mythology. Peopel were really excited about Bryce larkin and the NSA computer and Chuck's backstory. In the original design of the show, we thought we would probably be doing more stand alone episodes with the villian-of-the-week. But it was really exciting that people wanted to find out what happened to all the characters, so we are digging deeper into them now going into season two. So we definately have more mysteries to reveal.'
So what do you think? Personally I'm just wondering how they're going to explain the beard :D
