you can either strive to meet the expectations of those people who unsatisfied with who you are; to continually try to please the people who are displeased with you.....
...or you can find a certain sense of being content - a safehaven - with the people who appreciate who you are already.
Some people can seem like they're above you just by looking down on you. And even if they're obviously below you, it's hard to see that when you always look for the best in the worst.
And for the worst in the best....
