At my dads house he does not allow them and would find out if I installed any and I can't hook up MY computer (feh) so I have to use THEIRS. I guess the fact that he's a network admin for Vista has something to do with it. Probably he's one of those adults that believe everyone that uses IM-ing is a child molestor just searching for prey O_o ... yep, me and my buddies... that all WE EVER talk about via IM _>
If you aren't allowed to install software to the computer, try a live operating system. Most popular being Knoppix
Just pop in the disc and your PC will boot into a desktop environment with all the software you could imagine (require, at least). Best part is that it doesn't touch the hard drive (unless you want to, of course).
