Six days. Four trains. Three subway systems. One bus. So much fun.

It was a scratch, not a pick! No pick!!

It all started Tuesday morning when I hopped an Amtrak up to Boston. I upgraded to business class and worked from the train. All travel should be ask relaxing as train travel. I got a ton of work done. The dining car had fried chicken, the leg room was copious, and the coffee was hot, damn good, and FREE!

After arriving and checking into the B&B, necrophore and I made it over to JP for dinner at The Alchemist with printedfaces, hawkmoon268, slobra, Thad, and guest of honor doctor_toc. We then wandered over to the Milky Way for karaoke. How I've missed that Tuesday night extravaganza. It was made even crazier by the fact that shaxxon, ruxxell and co. were there for a Yelp! gathering. Thanks to creative use of duets, I got to sing three times -- "The Reflex" by myself, "Stop Dragging My Heart Around" with the lovely hawkmoon268 and "Under Pressure" with the equally lovely misslizzers. Many were there. Much was sung. More was drunk. As was I.

Wednesday through Friday the Boston fun continued -- working from home or the Diesel Cafe with philbot, dinners and drinks at various old haunts with various old haunters, and finally a 9am Accella train back to Brooklyn Friday morning.

Works of Man

Got off the train and back to Brooklyn with just enough time to shower, shave, and re-pack before meeting lindaleeb to catch the first of two trains to Philadelphia. We spent the weekend with her friend Rebekah -- seeing the sites and eating the food. Her neighborhood (North Liberty) was pretty cool, as was the Mütter Museum of medical oddities -- including the conjoined livers of the original Siamese twins and President Grover Cleveland's tumor. We had cheesesteaks at Steve's Joe's, which is apparently second string, but was damn fine all the same. We ate some food, drank some beer and kept it mellow.

Home Again, Home Again
We returned to Brooklyn Sunday afternoon, just in time for dinner at S'Mac with quigs followed by drinks at Death and Co. and Karaoke at Lit with her and a couple of her old coworkers. Stayed long enough to sing, but sadly missed Dawn and her coworkers' performances.
Spent the last day of summer on my bike mostly. Linda and I rode about 10 miles, circling Prospect Park, grabbing some jerk chicken at the West Indies Festival, and watching the last group of people swim at the Floating Pool along the way.

All and all I'd say I did a heck of a job of putting one last nail in the coffin of Summer 2007. Thanks to everyone who was a part of it!
