Meme: Post 7 weird facts about yourself, then tag 7 friends
Rules: see above, and add "7 weird facts" to the "Tags:" field for easy tracking!

This is particularly tough since I've been tagged once before to list six random things about myself, and I certainly hate to repeat if I can avoid it.

1. I have Anomalous trichromacy, which is a fancy way of saying color deficient vision. Basically, I have trouble differentiating shades of green and red and can't see light pinks or mint greens at all. I discovered this when a fellow high school student pointed out I was wearing a pink shirt with a red sweater. I didn't know the shirt was pink.

2. As kids, my best friend Kevin and I were the "get rich quick" scammers on our block. Our many schemes included an amateur magic show (card tricks performed poorly in my back yard) and tracing drawings out of books and selling them as "coloring sheets".

3. I was a college dropout at 17. I graduated high school at 16 and dropped out of the University of Cincinnati after spending two quarters hanging out at the arcade or my friend Julie's house instead of going to classes. I took a year and a half off, joined a band and learned to play bass, hung out in coffee shops, moved out of my parents' house, then re-enrolled at Northern Kentucky University at 19.

4. One year my mom had several kids from the neighborhood over to watch the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving with me. She served popcorn, which is kind of cute. However, afterward I was deathly ill and threw up like crazy. I had a food aversion to popcorn for years afterward.

5. Continuing on the food theme, my neighborhood growing up was very resistant to letting a McDonald's move in. I didn't eat McDonald's hamburgers for years. Instead we ate at Burger Chef, where the kids meals came in these cool plastic race cars or at Zipp's Tavern, a local burger joint within walking distance of my house. To this day I still crave Zipp's burgers and grab one whenever I can.

6. I have played in bands opening for both Mary Timony and Christian Death.

7. In the mid-90s, while I was playing with the Borgia Popes, my grandmother came to one of our shows. I was wearing a skirt and make up. It was at Sudsy Malones, which is normally a standing room bar. Someone was nice enough to find her a table and chair and she sat at the table and watched us play wall of noise art rock and smiled and clapped along. It was surreal for me -- I can only imagine what it was like for Tony and Rachel.

I try not to tag specific people, but if you feel like sharing 7 weird facts, I'd love to read them.
