My goal for the week is to pee in a cup.

Lifestyle @ Pianos

The picture is from tonight's Lifestyle show at Piano's in Manhattan. It was a lovely Monday night out. The opener was a band of twerpy Canadians called Bad Dirt. Despite these two strikes against them they had some catchy tunes. Lifestyle rocked out. With Ad on guitar and Sean playing bass they are no longer your father's synth pop band as far as I know. They are definitely not your creepy uncle who still lives in the basement's synth pop band. The songs are faster and wilder without losing the hooks a their juicy cores. The last band was called Openheimer and seemed like something I would enjoy if it wasn't Monday and I didn't have to work tomorrow.

We met up with sadotter at the show -- the first time since moving to NYC. It's particularly funny since we live blocks from each other and had to meet at a bar on the lower east side. Ah, New York.

Looking backward, much of last weekend was again spent unpacking and (new trick!) -- hanging things. Lindaleeb and I stepped out Saturday night for some Cuban food and to see Say Hi To Your Mom at the Knitting Factory. They played a late show without any openers and still managed to pack the place. Rightfully so. This is my third time seeing them and I couldn't keep my eyes off the drummer. He somehow managed to be both flashy and metronome tight at once. The whole package is pretty impresisve. Eric (the singer) was actually at the show tonight. Apparently he's friends with the bratty Canadian band.

This weekend Linda and I will be in Boston. I may come a day early since I was incapable of peeing in a cup last week. It's a weakness of mine. I'm horribly piss shy. It's not just the whole peeing on cue thing. Even in a public restroom whenever possible I will head to the stalls. Peeing in a cup is the last thing I need to for my disability insurance, so I'd really like to get it done. I've pencilled it in for Friday. If all goes well, by the next time you've seen me I'll have pissed in a cup.

Last Thursday Linda and I celebrated two years since our first official date, when I took her to a "little Italian place" in Davis Square. We celebrated by going to a little Italian place in Brooklyn. It was cute and tastey. The next night we saw Little Miss Sunshine. I love movies that are dark, dark, dark yet still manage to show a little beauty in the center. I wonder if Tatsuya Ishita saw it before making this cartoon.
