Hypothesis: You can predict the amount of drama that surrounds a particular livejournal or livejournal community based on the number of deleted friend accounts associated with that journal.
I have no intention to do the research to support this hypothesis. Just something to consider.
Last night
lindaleeb and I went to Rivergods with a couple of her roommates and their friend. It was a DJ Battle night and the contest was "Cowbell vs. Handclap". It was really close. Both were awesome. Just when I thought cowbell was winning they slapped on the Cars "Let's Go" and handclap acquired the higher ground. In the end I think everybody won.
Thanks to all who came to the gig last Thursday. Despite the train wreck finish and me having to jumpstart my voice for backing vocals we had a lot of fun. I was sad that Kong (Koooooong!) turned out to be a funk fusion band, but it could have been worse. The Latin Jazz was nice. Lyss (
fireapple) showed up! Not counting the time we crossed paths outside Unicorn Books it's been like a year since I saw her. It was good to catch up.
Other fun from last week included a media party at
gabrieceleste and
fuck_hugh's on Wednesday and media party at
hawkmoon268's on Sunday. Wednesday was to watch two episodes of "Freak and Geeks" that featured Joel Hodgson from MST3K. We ate fondue. Sunday was to watch the new re-release of Office Space with deleted scenes. Some were funny, some were mean. The movie still holds up well. We ate homemade apple crisp.
Saturday night Linda and I went out for dinner at Upstairs on the Square. The dessert was as awesome as we remembered it (steamed chocolate espresso cake with caramel ice cream), but the food was kinda 'eh. The outside of my steak was scorched to the point where I resorted to scraping it. I think the waiter heard me complaining because he gave us complimentary glasses of port which was excellent! Also we discovered half bottles of wine. They are so cute!
Afterward we went to T.T's for the Westward Trail/Everyday Visuals/Ad Frank show. The Westward Trail boys were on fire. They do a great job of putting so much energy into their singing and guitar work that you dn't even notice the rest is backing tracks. Ad Frank was solid but not amazing. It was their guitarist's (Sean's) birthday and he was really hamming it up on the solos which made for some extra fun. I got pretty drunk. It happens.
I accidentally sent out a blank email to a bunch of folks on the "Chuck is Performing" list because I'm a bonehead. I followed it up with a real email about our shows in December. If you're not on the list and would like to be, just let me know. It's all very low tech.
Still no word on whether or not we play Salem on Sunday. I'm thinking "not" at this point which is cool. I'll probably just buy a Bauhaus ticket at the door and see 'em solo, since all those that were interested in going will be out of town.
I have plenty of pictures to share -- Florida, NYC Halloween, and the Kirkland. Sadly I keep forgetting to take the camera out of my gig bag to upload them. I'll try to remember after rehearsal tonight.
