How the moving
We've been getting things moved over a lot faster than I'd thought we would. Rachel's friend TJ has been a big help in that. He has a truck and has helped us move a lot of furniture ahead of our planned June 24th date for renting a truck to carry furniture. We may actually be done with the bulk of moving by today or tomorrow. The big hiccup there is going to be getting the cable internet hookup activated sooner than planned in the new apartment. I figure it can't be too complicated to get that date moved up. They want to send a technician out to the apartment, but I can't imagine what they'd need to do on the inside. Besides verify signal, which we can accomplish by hooking up a computer and seeing what we get. So I don't know, I'll talk with them about it when we know for sure what's going on.
There's going to be some time spent organizing and reorganizing and cleaning up. There's probably going to be a bunch of little things still at the house that we'll have to box up willy-nilly. There'll be a final walk-through with the landlord, and possibly some minor touch-up work like spackling nail holes.
Someday not too far in the future we'll probably be having an apartment-warming.
I'm really excited about the new place. I like it a lot. I'm even starting to feel healthier just from the exercise of moving things and the frequency with which we've gone swimming in the pool. I have good feelings about this place.
