Of all the places I went in San Francisco, my lone ride to the Legion of Honor was near the epoch of favorites. Perhaps because the museum has one of the greatest collections of Rodin sculptures in the world, or maybe it was the architecture, or maybe the mix of riding, solitude, and yet being able to spend hours walking and viewing the details of the place. Oh yeah, a few Degas don't hurt either. I'm a BIG fan of the Degas.
Created as a memorial to the fallen soldiers of World War I, sugar magnates Alma and Adolf Bretteville. Please remind me that, if I ever become a sugar magnate, to build something like this. Kudos to them.
