With such a beautiful weekend, I wanted my new lens to play with last week. So after getting the 2 day air shipping from B&H photo, I tracked the package all the way to Seattle for delivery this past Friday. It said "destination" rather than "out for delivery". So I called to ask if everything was ok - "of course" - then no delivery by 4, I call again. Then 6 when I was told that the truckers can go until 11:59 if they haven't finished their deliveries. Then 9pm - they tell me that I cannot get in touch with the facility because they've all gone home. They also said that the only way I could have guarenteed that the package was on a truck is to have the ups folks call the tracking facility, who in turn would call the truck they thought the package was on, and have them return my call. Oh, I guess it's my fault then, calling 3 times earlier that day and staying home only to be spoken down to by UPS wasn't enough to guarentee my guarenteed delivery package. They also said that they take whatever is on the tracking information as 100% (which is why they made no effort to call the facility without me specifically asking) even though they said "sometimes when it says 'out for delivery' it doesn't mean it's on a truck". My head was about to explode (not 100% not 100% not 100%...). Knowing UPS does saturday delivery, I asked them to do that. Nope. They don't have the manpower to find my package. Then yesterday they did not call back like they said they would, and when i called they transferred me to another department. After answering a bunch of questions like "why haven't you checked with your neighbor? Have you checked outside for the package?" They said they'd open a claim and contact the shipper and get a new package out to me once the claim was closed (1-8 days). UGH. UPS is the worst. I don't mind paying a couple extra bucks to avoid them from now on.
