whelp!  it's that time again: Halloween!  i don't have much time to post since anyone who has taught English knows that Halloween is one of the busiest times in the year at your job.  i remember last year, i was arranging for a Halloween party at my old school all by myself, and i was totally frazzled by the end of the month!  fortunately, i don't ( Read more... )

I think that randoseru is absolutely gorgeous! You couldn't have possibly picked a better and prettier color! I think powder pink is too light a color too, really washes girls out. That bright happy pink color really pops! And the fact that it has the heart detailing on it, makes it a little bit more special too.

Branden we bought black but his was special and handmade for him and had argyle print (blue and silver), we paid for ours by ourselves too. Grandma from Osaka bought Branden the desk. The backpack took a couple months to handmake it.

With Noah, I knew I wanted a light caramel color it just matched better with his hair and skin coloring and I went to Aeon to have him try out a tan one there to see if it suited him and it did, but yes like you said try out the color first especially since they are so costly. Then went online and we ordered Noah's also with argyle sewing from Osaka. Again we paid for Noah's ourselves also. Since grandma Mitsuko paid for Noah's desk. : ) Usually it's 1 set paying for the desk and 1 set of grandparents paying for the randoseru, but since I'm American we only have the 1 set.

But the cost for them was insane. around 48,000-52,000 yen I forget the price but...Noboru said it was still cheaper then $100 a year. @.@ Noboru's was paying and he wanted that price range. So...@.@

And fwiw, Noboru didn't have a randoseru either, but it's because his school was anti randoseru and I think he always missed having one too. But they're a big deal and a rite of passage for us living in Japan ne~ I think that's why it was a bigger deal for him.

As for me, I come from the land of the, just buy a new Jansport backpack once a year and it's all good! : ) That's how we did it in America. : )

Kay's backpack is really special. And very very pretty. So glad you picked that awesome color.

Anyway, holy cow a trip to Osaka! That's so cool! Definitely worth missing a day of school for. Sometimes seeing the world first hand is better then what you could catch in the classroom for that day, if you know what I mean.

It's me, Gina btw. : )

i thought B and N's would be around that price range when i read they were order made :) but i'm sure they'll last through all 6 years. just look at Branden's! you definitely pay for what you get, so i'm kinda worried that Kay's will start falling apart in her third year or something ^_^;; i actually wanted one that was around 30,000 yen, but we couldn't find one that had that same design. :P only time will tell, i guess ^_^;;

hope the weather is treating y'all all right! everyone is getting sick around me, so i have to be really careful not to catch what they have :P

thanks for the comment!!
