so, i've been babysitting and just generally helping Michelle out ever since her husband got hospitalized for a heart attack. even after he got discharged on the 25th last month, i still had to stick around for a bit. although, i got last weekend off from babysitting since their business isn't open on the weekends. so last Saturday, i got to go out with my other friend Robyn to see a movie. she had some free tickets and since we wouldn't be able to see each other until my birthday in May, we decided to get together. i was so excited because hubby was going to take care of Kay while i went to the movies with Robyn.
the first thought that came to mind was which pair of my heels would i wear. :P i can't remember the last time i wore any of my heels (anything under 2 in. doesn't count), so it was a great feeling to be back in them albeit my feet were aching by the time i got home. ^_^;; after i decided on my 4" Ninewest gray pumps, i made my outfit from there and even broke out the Coach bag that my old Luby co-workers gave me as a wedding gift :P little did i know that everything that i did differently that day (putting on make-up, using a different bag, wearing different shoes, etc.) would lead to a rather bad day...
usually on Saturdays, i'd stay home and catch up on things that needed to be done while hubby takes Kay out for a daddy day. they usually head out around 10:30ish, but weren't out the door by 11:30 last Saturday. this was mostly due to me letting Kay sleep in a bit and not rushing through her morning routine. that put a small dent in my prep time, but i had to put on make-up to go with my outfit. so, i was running late by the time i was finished. since i was late, i didn't bother to check my purse to see if i'd forgotten anything, which i had, and realized later that i'd forgotten some maxi pads i needed. aunt flow hadn't come that morning, but decided to come right as i was switching train lines to go meet up with Robyn. T_T then just my luck, the pads that are normally sold in the pub. restrooms were completely out, so i had to resort to a whole packet of tissues with extra toilet paper wrapped around it. it's a good thing that i'm quite light on the first day...
anyway, i told Robyn about all of this after making her wait for almost an hour, and was sooo glad to hear that there was a drugstore in the mall. after a quick lunch at BK, we headed toward the theater and saw NINE, which i thought was pretty entertaining. i was really surprised to see Sophia Loren AND Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas in there and never knew Kate Hudson could sing/dance like that. hers and Fergie's songs (Cinema Italiano and Be Italian) were two of my favorites from the movie. :)
afterward, we went in search of my hubby's birthday present. i wanted to get him something other than a cake this year and thought of clothes, so we browsed around and tried to navigate through the mall without getting lost. after a couple of wrong turns, we finally got ourselves to the sports wear section, and i found a place that sold Kappa. i found some running shorts and a top that matched on sale, so i got those since i knew that his old running shorts were too tattered to wear anymore.
we headed back without having dinner since Robyn needed to get ready for a business trip the next day. it didn't hit me how tired i was until we parted ways, not to mention how blistery and achy my feet were from walking around in heels all afternoon. the moment i got home, i was so tired and hurting that i'd forgotten to lock the door. the phone was ringing while i was coming inside, so that interrupted my usual turn-and-lock motion i do when i slip off my tennis shoes. after rushing to get the phone (it was our dentist to remind us that we had an appt. the next day), i totally didn't realize that i'd forgotten to lock the door and went straight to doing chores. i was in the middle of mopping the floor when hubby came in. i'm pretty forgetful and that wasn't the first time i'd forgotten to lock the door, so i don't blame him for being mad. i guess it was my hormones or the events that happened that day or whatever, but i blew up at him. when i mean blow up, i mean yelling, crying and throwing things onto the floor (nothing breakable or blunt, btw). yea, couldn't imagine that, eh? he backed off a bit while i vented out my steam for a few more minutes on some laundry, and then we both calmed down. i scared Kay, so she was pretty quiet during dinner. surprisingly, everything went back to normal afterward. sigh, that's the beauty of being married :) we were all pretty tired that day, so we headed to bed early since the next morning was gonna be a busy one with Kay's first dentist appt!!! :/
