Lately, I've noticed a cultural divide growing between my father and I. Let me just say that if he and I were states, he would be rather red, whereas my hue would be more blue. I never expected him to understand the appeal of Project Runway, especially considering what a hold out I was in the beginning. My mom still finds it funny that I watch the show all about fashion, which I understand completely. Anyway, yesterday I was watching the end of the Miss Universe episode because I knew they would follow it with last week's episode, which I had missed. My dad came in the room to eat dinner just as the runway show began. IMMEDIATELY, AND WITHOUT ANY PROMPTING, my father turned into Michael Corrs. He was all "I like the color, but not the actual dress" and "The top just doesn't fit right" and "There's too much going on." When Laura and Michael's dress came out, he said, "Now, that's a pageant dress." I was in heaven. He stayed to watch the dog episode and voiced his concern that allowing Keith Michael to stay would just fuel more assy behavior. As they were whittling away the last couple of designers, he actually said, "Turn that up a little bit, would you?" He was learning the designers names. He was concerned about Bradley. Project Runway can change the world.
I just read that Raven Simone might star in the "Adventures in Baby-sitting" remake. Dear lord, they'll probably turn the blues bar scene into some shitty Cheetah Girls-esque number to showcase Raven's "talent." Can't they leave the classics alone?
