Four Seasons: Summer 1/2

Oct 12, 2014 12:37

A/N: Thank you for reading so far. I hope you enjoy this next part too.

Summer Part 1

Hot, so hot he feels like he’s melting.  The air is humid and thick from the recent rain but they can’t stop moving. The hottest part of the summer will be over soon but for now they have to stick through it.

“I hate sweating so much,” Key groaned. “Air con, I miss air con the most. Air con, ice cream, and water skiing I was doing that last summer.”

“Last summer I was interning across from a place with amazing naengmyeon,” Jinki added. “The doctor treated me to delicious naengmyeon a lot.

“I was singing with the band.” Jonghyun sighed wiping sweat from his brow. “I miss dousing myself in cold water at the encore of a crazy show.”

“I was in a dance camp. We had a barbeque party,” Taemin mumbled, “There was fresh meat, cold soda, watermelon. It was real summer. Real summer, when you have a break from school and do what you like, not this mess we live in now.”

“The world cup would probably be playing right now,” Minho chuckled, “I’d be screaming at a TV all in red, praying for Korea to win. We had a good team we could’ve made it to top 8 at least.”

“Let me guess you spent your summers playing soccer?”

“Basketball or Tennis sometimes,” Minho shrugged. “I can’t believe we’ve been living in this world for over a year.”
They were silent after that, the mood became somber. Then Taemin spoke, “I should be dead by now.”

Minho glanced to him adjusting his back pack. “Me too, sometime last winter I should’ve died then.”

“Spring,” Jinki mumbled, “It would’ve been in spring.”

“Fuck,” Jonghyun scoffed, “I should’ve died week one to be honest and several times after that.”

Key only grinned as a corpse wandered onto the road. “Well lucky me,” He skipped over bashing it’s skull with his ax, “I died long before these other corpses started walking.”

“Kib-Key,” Minho rushed after him, “Don’t talk like that. It’s depressing.”

“What’s so depressing?” He shrugged, “I’m going to last longer than these new corpses.”

“Key,” Minho caught him by his wrist, “I said don’t talk like that.”

Key looked at where his hand was and it seemed as though he’d pull his hand away but Minho moved in close, “Don’t talk like that I’m here right?” His grip loosened enough to slip down to hold Key’s hand. He spoke too low for the others to hear,

“Kibum?”

“Ok,” He looked down before glanced at the other three, “Ok fine let my hand go.”

“Let’s do something tonight ok?” Minho whispered letting his hand go and backing away.

Key rolled his eyes, “Stop being a moron. Let’s go we still have a long way to the beach.”

“Beach?” Jonghyun jogged up to them.

“It’s summer we should go once right?” Key smiled, “I want to camp on the beach.”

Taemin returned the smile, “I want to go to the beach too hyung.”

“The beach? Really?”

Key nodded, “We can pretend for a little bit that we’re still living the way we were last summer. Just for a little while won’t hurt. We won’t be able to take a vacation in autumn anyway, this is our last chance.”

They don’t make it to the beach that day but they are much closer. Key happily smiles at their map as he and Jinki discuss how they’ll navigate.

“This town is much closer, but this place is smaller. We probably won’t find the best place to stay here but it’s bound to have less corpses than this town,” Key began, “On the other hand the bigger place could have some nice supplies too. We could try luring them away.”

Jinki shook his head, “Let’s stay at the smaller town. We can make a run through here after we’ve had time to play. We could lure them away but other people will target this town too.”

Key nodded, “That’s true enough.”

Their mood is up that night and they wake in high spirits. As they get closer that’s when the problems arise. It started with four people surrounded; three are fighting to protect the one woman in the middle holding a small crying child. Minho rushed to help, Jonghyun just behind him and in the end they are all in the fray until there is nothing but bodies left.

“Thank you,” The man pants out, “Thank you so much.”

The woman is still trying to comfort the child. He’s quieter but Minho can tell the noise is putting Key on edge.

“It’s not a problem since you have a child,” Minho commented. “We’d be worse than the corpses if we just let them get you.

“You’re all young too.” The other man replied, “Are you here about the broadcast?”

“Broadcast?” Key looked to them, interested, “What broadcast?”

“Japan stabilized.” The man smiled, “They’re taking refugees, children have first priority. They have ships off the coast and make runs for survivors. We’re heading there to take him.”

“What does the broadcast say?” Key asked, “Do you have a working radio?

The man sags, “We don’t have a radio anymore, we heard it in the car but we had to abandon it. It’s being continuously broadcast on repeat. The main message is pre-recorded followed by pick up location. If you can find a radio you’re sure to hear it. We heard the broadcast three days ago. We want to move along the coast to get to one of the pickup locations.”

“Do you know,” Jinki glanced to Taemin, “Is there an age limit? Are they only accepting young children?”

“They only said children were a priority,” The woman replied smiling, “I think if they have the room and supplies they’d take someone else. It wouldn’t hurt to see.”

“It’s best to get going,” Key says looking to the trees, “We shouldn’t stay here much longer.”

They head to the smaller town together. Key and Minho go ahead to scout, “What do you think?”

“Hm?”

“The broadcast Kibum,” Minho sighed, “What do you think? Should we look into it?”

“I think Jonghyun and Jinki will look into it.” Kibum shrugged, “I’m not going to chase after it if that’s what you’re asking. I won’t stop you if you want to look into it either but you should know that.”

“Consider it,” Minho said, “Please just consider it. We don’t have to make it our goal or anything like that but we should at least try to hear the broadcast for ourselves before we make any decisions. Kibum?”

“I’m considering it,” He answered, “It’s not like I don’t want a different life from this but we can’t just go on the pipe-dream hope stories everyone was on when this thing started. This could be real but it could also be a trap. I’m not willing to risk my life finding out just based on words from some strangers.”

“I know,” Minho stopped, “I just…if I can I’d like to help you get out of here and get away from this.”

Kibum walked past him without even looking his way, “Worry about yourself Minho.”

The conversation ends there. Minho tries to talk but Kibum ignores him and soon the others have caught up to them. But Key ignoring him isn’t where the problems end.

“It seems pretty empty.” Jinki commented, “That’s good.”

“We need to find a place.” Key said firmly. “It’s not good to be out in the open now. It smells bad.”

“It always smells bad,” A man sighed.

“No,” Jonghyun sniffed, “It smells like the dead. Let’s get off the street.”

All it takes is one corpse trapped beneath a car and the young boy’s scream for them to start crawling out. Minho is relieved that Jinki, Jonghyun, and Taemin are all keeping calm. The months they’d spent together really showing off but they aren’t the only ones there and the other group is less collected. They are lagging behind the mother is grabbed. She drops the child struggling and he runs away from the group.

“Get everyone somewhere safe,” Key yells, he’s already after the child, “Walkie me.”

Minho wants to stop him but he doesn’t have a chance. Instead with the help of Jinki he’s able to wrangle the scrambling adults together until they’re safe inside a boarded up multilevel building. He’s only made sure the coast is clear when he walkies Key.

He feels like he’s waiting too long for a reply. Jinki stopped him from pacing. “Calm down, Key is Key. He’ll come back safe.” He glanced at the man trying to console woman, “Just keep calm until we think of something. Taemin and Jonghyun are looking around for supplies. You should look around too, maybe go to the roof and see if you can see a good route for Key to get here.”

Minho takes his suggestion, it’s been well over an hour and he imagines millions of bad scenarios as the minutes go by. Finally the walkie clicks and he answers. “Kibum where are you?”

“We’re in some restaurant,” He replied, “Kids are heavy, where are you?”

“An old multilevel building, the best sign is a red café one, it’s across the street from a restaurant with the windows all smashed and a building half gone. East of where we entered town.”

“Good, everyone is safe?”

“Yes, we’re all safe.”

“Ok I’ll make my way there. The kid is sleeping so I should be able to get there quietly.”

Minho was less anxious after hearing Kibum but he’s still on edge. When Jinki offers him food he rejects it. He doesn’t think he can stomach it. He knows he’s not helping with the atmosphere but at this moment he wishes they’d left the group to die or survive on their own. He regretted breaking the rules and interfering for one kid. Now that kid could’ve gotten his Kibum killed or hurt. He couldn’t stand it.

Taemin joins him, “We shouldn’t have interfered.”  He spoke low and glanced at the still distraught mother, “Little kids can’t survive in this type of world anyway. Should we look for him?”

Minho sighed looking at his watch, “He said he was on his way. I was giving him an hour. He still has twenty minutes left.”

“He’s ok,” Taemin whispered, more to himself than Minho, “He has to be. Key can survive. He’s ok.”

Minutes are moving too slowly both he and Taemin are fidgeting nervously. When the walkie crackle he jumps out of his skin and Taemin grabs it first. “Hyung?”

“I’m across the street from the place behind the restaurant. How do I get in?”

“I’ll come for you hyung.” Taemin answered rushing out. Minho covers the door as Taemin runs over. Key is holding the child and they quickly cross over. Minho didn’t notice but Jonghyun is there boarding over the door as soon as he shuts it.

“Long day, let’s camp here for the night,” Jonghyun said adding to the blocks by the door. “Key needs to rest.”
Jonghyun pats his shoulder as he moves to help out. “I got this. Go check on Key. I know you’re worried crazy.”

Minho quickly makes his way to the second floor again. Key has already handed over the child. The mother is sobbing joyfully. She thanks Key over and over as she holds the boy tight kissing his face apologizing to him in between her thanks.

“Did you search the place?” Key asked ignoring the woman.

Taemin answered, “Yes hyung, just like you said every level.”

“You can take the top level, don’t cause any more trouble.” Key said looking at the other group, before turning away. “Don’t bother me anymore than you already have. Adults should be responsible.”

One of the men stood, “Excuse me?”

“Top level, get going,” Key said turning his back to them, “And don’t get noisy, I’m going to sleep.”

“Hey you-”

Key has his gun pulled on the man right away, “I’m not going to repeat myself.”
Minho places his hand on Key’s shoulder but he doesn’t lower the gun.

Jinki stepped in between them carefully, “I think you should think about your situation more carefully.” Key maneuvers the gun to point over Jinki’s shoulder. “He’s been very kind to you so far but that was only because it was convenient and he took pity on you. I don’t think he feels that way now.” He smiled, “People are still quite dangerous in this world. You should be grateful when people are kind to you but you shouldn’t indulge on their kindness either.”

“We’re very sorry for burdening you,” The mother began, “Especially me.”

Key lowers his gun but Jinki is still psuedo shielding the other party from him, or shielding Key from them.

“We shouldn’t be relying on kids who are just trying to survive themselves,” The eldest man of the group stood, “You’ve done more than enough and we’ll leave you to rest but remember to try to find that broadcast. You should get out of this hell as soon as you can. You don’t need to be here any longer than you have.”

Minho  decided to wait until he had Key alone. He had to wait through Taemin’s interrogation. Jinki’s repeated “are you sure you don’t want me to check you over?” and Jonghyun grumbling about how annoying it was to be separated. In the end Jonghyun and Jinki finally dragged Taemin away, leaving them in the room alone. He hugged Key close, “Don’t fucking do that again.”

“Hey you saved the kid first,” He mumbled.

Minho kissed the side of his face holding him tight, “I was scared to death. Are you sure you’re ok?”

“You’re always scared to death.” He chuckled. “I’ve said I’m fine a millions times now.”

“I’m just making sure because you’re always scaring me,” He rebutted.

Key turned to meet his kisses. “You don’t have enough courage.”

“You have more than enough for the both of us.”

Key pulled at him until they were both lying down, “Before all this I was a big chicken. I liked horror stuff but I would scream at horror movies or haunted houses. Heights too, I was so afraid of heights. I used to feel like I’d die if I was up too high. It was so scary back then but now I don’t think of any of it if I have to jump from the second story of a building or rope down from even higher.”

“I had more courage before this,” Minho cuddled close, “I thought I was invincible and I lived to win. There’s no way to win now, just a marathon of who can run the longest.”

Key sighed, smirking, “It can’t be a marathon, you know I hate running.” He moved closer, “Show me something good about the way the world is now.”

Minho smiled and leaning in to kiss him, “How much good stuff do you want me to show you?”

“All of it.”

Minho chuckled, “Everyone is still awake what if they catch us?”

“I don’t care. I want it.” Kibum responded pressing kisses to his jaw before releasing him, “Get our things.”

Minho obliges but detours to check the door. He locks it and pulls down the blinds down over the small window. Kibum is on all fours waiting, his pants off one leg in a way that’s become a tradition for them. Minho descends immediately kissing the back of his neck, rubbing his clothed self against the other.

“Hurry up,” Kibum whined, pressing back against him. “Who knows if one of those nosy bodies will try to interrupt us.”

“Don’t rush me,” Minho grunted coating his fingers in lube, “We don’t have much left.”

Kibum winced as a slick finger circled his anus before pressing inside, “Whose fault is that?”

Minho shrugged licking his lips, “I don’t know. Who is the person who said he wanted to fuck before the others go to bed?”

“Yeah I said fuck me,” He complained, “Not ah-tease me.”

“Not teasing, necessary,” Minho added another finger, “It’s been a while. We don’t want you to get hurt.”
Kibum mumbled a response but Minho couldn’t hear it. He focused on making sure his partner was well prepared instead. Kibum made small noises when Minho added one last finger but he was growing impatient too.

Kibum is red faced and panting, “Hurry.”

Minho pulls his hand away to undo his pants and rolled on a condom before coating it in lube. “Tell me if it hurts.”

“I'll hurt you if you don’t hurry up.”

Minho ignores it and pushes in carefully, Kibum is hissing at him. He thinks of it as a combination of pain and impatience. He takes his time adjusting before moving.  He starts stroking his cock. He plants his other hand over Kibum’s and kisses the back of his neck.

“You feel so good,” He groaned kissing at his nape. Kibum is shaking trying not to make a sound. Minho moved his hand from his erection to pull up Kibum’s shirt. He brings it to Kibum’s face, “Bite.”

Kibum does immediately, nipping Minho’s fingers, his sounds being muffled by the shirt. He kisses his nape again. He sits on his knees again looking at Kibum’s exposed back. Pale, toned, and smooth, he wonders if this is how Kibum would look if the past year hadn’t been hell. Would he be going through a grow spurt now? Would he have the light tan on the back of his neck and arms he has now? His body makes it seem like he would be bigger, broader with better nutrition, as he has grown a bit since they met.

Kibum makes a garbled plea, Minho only understands because of how practiced this is, “Faster?”

Kibum’s head bobbed up and down. Instead of increasing his pace Minho increases the strength behind his thrusts. Kibum moves to lie down, shaky arms unable to keep him up.

“Kibum,” He panted pulling away carefully, “Turnover.”

Kibum nodded against the ground shirt falling from him mouth as Minho helped him onto his back. He leaned down to kiss the other boy rubbing their cocks against each other. How sloppy they were reminded him of times in their attic when they were new to all of this but the hurried nature reminded him of spring when they had a short vacation how they rushed to quickly get off whenever they could get away from the other boys.

“More,” He whined rocking against him, “Put it in.” Minho continued kissing him, grinding against Kibum eagerly rather than giving in to his request. “Minho please,” he added meeting the plush short kisses.

He gives in, groaning into Kibum’s mouth as he presses back inside him. He relishes in the small deep sounds that gets muffled in their kisses, cherishes the way Kibum’s legs wrap around him. It doesn’t take long but they knew that going into it. Kibum’s arms tighten around him, fingers pressing into his skin as Minho slips a hand between them to jerk him off.

“There,” He choked out, his thighs trembled. “There.”

Minho watched sweat slide down the side of his face, panting, “Close?”

Kibum nodded, panting hard. His eyes are teary and unfocused. Minho moved faster, he can feel his peak coming too.

“Minho,” Kibum came in his hand, biting his lip. Minho followed just behind him muffling himself against Kibum’s neck.
Minho panted and leaned away to wipe sweat from his forehead before pulling out. He quickly took care of the dirty condom, pulling up his pants, and went to grab a rag to clean them both up. Kibum lay evening out his breathing but otherwise unmoving. Minho cleaned him up before tossing the rag across the room. He watched Kibum pull his pants back on and right his clothes. He held open his arms for the other to come to him in their post-sex cuddle.

He kissed Kibum’s sweaty temple making his way down to his lips. There Kibum deepened the kisses and soon they were lying on their sides legs entwined and sharing lush lingering kisses. “Minho?”

Minho smiled, his hand stroked Kibum’s side, “Hm?”

“I love you.” He kisses Minho softly, eyes teary but a smile is on his face, “I love you okay?”

Minho finds himself holding back tears. “I love you too.” He presses a needy kiss to him, “I love you Kibum. I love you too.”

Kibum chuckled and retreated from Minho’s lips, “I’m really tired, you wore me out. Hold me until I fall asleep?”

Minho nodded, “Always.”

Waking up alone wasn’t strange to Minho, Kibum usually woke before him and got started on things early. He exited the room to see Jinki preparing breakfast and that was strange.

“Where is Key?”

Jinki frowned, “I don’t know. I just thought he was sleeping in after everything that happened yesterday. I started breakfast so he could rest a bit more. He must have gotten up early.”

Minho mimicked his expression and walked off. After searching the floor, he went down the stairs where Jonghyun was messing around with a battery.

“Have you seen Key?” He asked.

He shook his head, “No, it’s just been me and this piece of shit here.  I thought I smelt him upstairs making breakfast.”

“It’s Jinki.” He informed, “Key’s not upstairs.”

“Well the blocks are still up I checked them when I came down.” Jonghyun shrugged, “Maybe he went up to talk to the ‘adults’. You know let them know we’re not sticking together.”

Minho’s frown deepened, “I’ll check.”

Minho doesn’t get the chance because Taemin hunts him down, “Key-hyung is gone.”

“I know he’s probably upstairs,”

“No he’s gone. He left.” Taemin said panicking, “Come on look.” He drags Minho to another room. There’s an open window and a rope. “See he left. His axe is gone. I think he took a small bag with medical supplies, I checked and I asked Jinki-hyung to double check. He left. Why did he leave? What happened?”

Minho ran a hand through his hair, “I need to go talk to those people upstairs. Help Jinki-ssi check everything.”

Minho moved quick trying to keep himself calm. He wasn’t happy to see the man that had tried to yell at Kibum the day before greet him first.

“What is it now?”

“Did someone come up here?” He asked.

“No,” the man grunted. “I’ve been keeping watch. We’ve all stayed away and no one has come up. You made yourselves clear.”

He nodded, “Yes well we’ll be leaving today so you’ll have this space to yourselves.”

Downstairs again, Taemin was angrily looking through a bag. “He didn’t take food. Something happened why would he just leave us?”

Jonghyun came upstairs, “What’s going on Taemin?”

“Key-hyung is gone. He left through a window.” The younger boy was obviously panicked and Minho was doing his best not to join him.

“Why would he sneak out? Did he take anything with him?”

Jinki frowned in thought, “He took some medical supplies, his gun, and his axe. There’s only one reason why he’d leave so suddenly.”

Minho glared but Taemin yelled, “No! No don’t you dare!”

“Taemin we’ve seen this before, we’ve all seen it before. Key’s not the type to stick around and try to hide it from us. He’d just leave for our safety,” Jonghyun sighed but the boy couldn’t be calmed.

“He wouldn’t leave.” Taemin replied, “He wouldn’t. He’d ask Minho-hyung to put a bullet in his head if he couldn’t bring himself to before he-there’s no way. He’s not bit.” Taemin turned to him, “We would’ve noticed, right hyung?”

“He couldn’t have been bit.” Minho added, “I would have noticed.”

Jinki nodded, “The symptoms do set in very quickly but I’ve seen cases where they were delayed. We don’t know for sure,” He turned to Minho, “You’ve been with him the longest would he just leave for no reason?”

Minho didn’t answer. He walked off to get his things and Key’s. “I’m going to find Key. You can do what you want. You can check into that broadcast those people mentioned.”

“Minho, that’s crazy. What if he’s bit?”

“I’m not going to just leave him out there.” Minho retorted, “I’ll find him and figure out why he had to leave.”

“I’ll go with you hyung.”

“Taemin.”

“I owe Key-hyung everything.” Taemin replied, “He got me out of that place.”

“You can’t just storm off like this,” Jonghyun yelled at them. “Come on this is nuts. Think this through Minho.”

“You can do what you want,” Minho grumbled.

“What I think Jonghyun means is that you should at least eat first,” Jinki began, “You’re both too worked up to do it the smart way.”

Jonghyun huffed, “Thank you hyung. Just calm don’t we’ll eat breakfast and pack up. We’ll all go after Key but we need a plan, have you even thought of where he might be headed?”

“If worse comes to worse, if he is,” Jinki stopped, “We’ll leave things up to you Minho.”

That’s the thought that haunted them now as they were getting ready to leave. He would’ve seen a bite right? He’s trying his hardest to think back to remember every detail when a very obvious one presents itself. They only take their pants off one leg. It’s in case they need to stop and get dressed right away but it means that there’s exactly one spot on Kibum’s body Minho didn’t confirm as bite free. It scares him. Could it all have been one big goodbye?

“So where should we go?” Jonghyun asked laying out the map.

“The beach,” Minho answered, “Key said he wanted to go there.”

“He’s probably injured,” Jinki added, “He wouldn’t have taken supplies if he weren’t injured. He doesn’t like to be wasteful. We’re still quite a ways from there so he may have stopped somewhere in between.”

“Even injured Key-hyung is really resourceful, if he did stop it would be some place that walkers can’t get to and people overlook. It wouldn’t be some place easy.”

It takes them a full day to make it to the seaside town.  They make it a priority to set camp first and spend the next day looking for any sign of Key. They find it in the severed heads of corpses but at the end of the day there is no sign of him.
Minho is returning from gathering firewood when he hears them talking. He stops to hear what they’re saying.

“It’s been three days since he left,” Jonghyun began, “If he was bit then he would’ve turned by now. Are we really looking for a walker?”

Jinki agreed grimly, “He wouldn’t have allowed himself to turn. It seems like we’re looking for his body. Even I want to at least give him a proper burial. He deserves it and after all he’s done for us we can go out of our way to give him one. Besides, Taemin needs this and Minho… They were really close. He needs this too.”

“True enough, this is the least we can do considering how many times he’s saved our ass,” Jonghyun replied, “Is it weird I’m kind of hoping he’s not bit or anything and just ran off on us? You know the incident with those people just reminded him why he was alone before this and decided to go back to that?”

“No,” Minho said making his way into camp, “You’re just thinking of the bright side. It just happens to suck too.”

Jonghyun scoffed, “Yeah seems like the bright side of everything these days is still cloudy.”

Jinki sighed, “Let’s stop before Taemin gets back, he’d just get upset.”

Their night is quiet and they sleep in shifts. The next morning Minho wakes up thinking about Jonghyun’s words.

“If we don’t find him today, we’ll make plans for the next place to go,” Minho announced in the morning.
Taemin snapped his head over glaring, “What?”

“If Key left because he wanted to we won’t be able to find him,” Minho explained, “And if he left because…well if he left for that then we’ll probably find him today. Either way it isn’t smart to jeopardize our safety this way.”

“But hyung-”

“Key risked his life to save you,” Minho started, “I’m not going to allow you to waste that chasing after him. If we can’t find him today I think we need to get a radio and check up on what those people said about the rescue boats. Even I they can’t take all of us they would probably take you Taemin, and that’s better than nothing.”

“That’s a good idea,” Jinki said agreeing before Taemin can object, “We should all keep a look out for a radio or supplies that can be used to fix one.”

“Taemin,” Jonghyun pats his back taking a deep breath, “This is the kind of world we live in now.”
Taemin nodded silently, his grip on his crowbar tightening, “I know.”

The small town is virtually wiped of the dead, with Key having done majority of the work and their small band moving through the town the day before. It works to their advantage, they’re able to check things more thoroughly and move at an unrushed pace.

“Hey,” Jonghyun shouts out from the passenger seat of a truck he’s been tinkering with while they search the house, “I got it.”

Minho rushes out and meets them by the truck. Jonghyun is messing with the radio when he finds the broadcast. The message being played is in English but then it swtiches to Chinese then Japanese then finally Korean.

“Japan has stabilized, we are accepting refugees. Priority is placed on children, and healthy young adults. The next pick up will be in,” the recording paused for a filler in a different voice, “2 days near 35 42 3.356 North 129 28 23.543 East 848-2 Naa-ri, Yangnam-myeon Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do.” It returned to the original recording, “The ship will stay for three days of coast and will send boats to retrieve refugees. No Infected. Infected will be terminated on sight.”
The message repeats itself before switching to another language again. Jonghyun searches around, “We need something to write it down.”

“848-2 Naa-ri, Yangnam-myeon Gyeondju,” Jinki repeated, “I’ve got it. It must be near a beach or port.”

“Now all we need to do is find Key-hyung and get there.” Taemin commented, “We should get going.”

Normally a broadcast like that would be a ray of hope but without Kibum beside him it feels like an omen.

“It’s obvious the broadcast adjusts to fit the time and location for pick up so it’s unlikely that it’s a hoax.” Jinki sighed, “And we’re close enough, we could probably make it to the pickup.”

“Don’t worry we’ll find a car or even a boat,” Jonghyun grinned, “We can make it and even if we don’t make it we’ll find a radio and figure out when the next pick up is and make that one. We know what we need to do. Now if we could just find Key.”

“Well we haven’t checked the beach,” Jinki supplied with a smile, “that is where he said he wanted to go. He wanted to camp on the beach.”

They find him on the beach, sitting in the sand, ax beside him unmoving. Minho rushes to him dropping their bags and falling to his knees beside him.

Kibum finally turns to him, the yellow and red in his eyes paralyzes him. “No, no, no you can’t be. There has to be a way to fix this.”

Kibum only gives him a small smile. “I’m sorry Minho.”

A/N: Kibum got bit...OTL I am so sorry. I'll be posting part 2 soon. Summer turned out to be much longer than I thought it would. Thank you for reading!
