This weekend I went to the first mgt training session, and it was great to finally meet all 45 of the graduates in the UKIMEA area. The train up to Leeds was absolutely unbearable and I kept on asking my friend "are we there yet", annoying but I just couldn't sit still. We then had to take a taxi from Leeds to Hollins Hall and there I quickly sat in the front seat and started chatting away with the taxi driver. Its amazing what they know about the city, so i managed to pick up bits and pieces of info that i needed. I find that when someones' got more experience (at least 2 year plus) under their belt, they are less inclined to be f**Kin ignorant and arrogant. The more I hang out with her, the more i couldn't stand, my mind is like "shut the hell up", maybe its her accent or cultural directness but its been f**kin pissing me off lately. In the end though we're all on the same boat, but not doing the same stroke if you know what i mean. I am also annoyed of the fact how some of us has literally faught our way through getting this job, and others are handed to them like it was part of their dipolma. One had a rich daddy and a big company that employs our company for some of their functions, the other is relative but in a smaller scale. If the gm and dofOps recommends someone, who's gonna turn it down! Those that were given don't have the same fire as the choosen, u can tell who faught for the job and who didn't. They don't even appreciate it and say "oh i am not sure if i want this" then step out of the f**kin way you retard.
Anyhow , the first day involves around just warming up to everyone again and telling each other what we are doing. Its literally lots of SHOW and TELL... I didn't have much and did it based on what i learned in Uni, procastination and improvise. Everyone is more laid back this time, and isn't as aggressive as i remembered when i went to the assessment (go figures). It has been a year since I first applied for the job and got the first acceptance letter. Then Q&A time with the major players in the UK Marriott, they were all very interesting, all 40-50 of age, male, european. One of my goals is to be on that panel by the age of 30. Speaking of, i managed to meet the only other yellow asian in the program, and she is britwashed, korean, but very nice. There were a few more middleeast asian which was nice to see. The group also consist of " I am too good and white for you" brits and the laid back yeah you're coo type of brits.
Yesterday though was by far one of the best training day i've ever had in my life. A apprently very famous motivation speaker by the name of Marcus came in that morning and did a whole day of motivation and goal setting/realization. It was abs. brillant, i will prob write an essay if i keep on going at what he did. It got me so pumped up and positive about everything.
By the time i got home yesterday, i was feeling sick cause i had McD for dinner before the train ride. It has started to become a trend to have a date with McD once a month.. its not healthy, even Richmond court had better after effects. This week i am working mornings and scattered days off. Next week though would be the challenge b/c i will be working nightaudit, oh i am going to in HK timezone just the week before coming to Canada, lets hope i recoperate by the time i get on that plane.
My friend is coming for dinner tonight! I was spoiled by thai mama, havne't done grocery shoppin for awhile, it was a workout. She just called, so have to clean place, shower, then prep food. Yay, watchin Footballers wives tonight, i hope its good.
