who you calling a sailor...

I did a recent adding up of everything I've written over the course of the summer months -- fiction that is, things that are not true but are made to sound true.  Lies, basically.  I peddle them, as if I was a store owner trying to off my cheap cheap import goods onto the unsuspecting consumer.  That's you -- well, not yet, seeing as I've never published anything.  Someday I hope that to be you, and I hope that the goods I happen to be peddling are not cheap imports, but life-altering works of art that bring about epiphanies and imbue in all a sense of the deepest melancholy with the glimmer of hope always there, on the horizon -- a dusk that never quite ends.  Of course everyone uses dusk in imagery so I better come up with something else.  Anyway, yeah, back to the point -- 88 pages, which surprised the hell outta me.  A few of the stories are still works in progress, but I included them anyway.  Still, I think I've got maybe 6 works or so finished, if not edited, so yeah, I guess it wasn't as creatively dry a summer as I had thought.

To all Volta's out there (?), the third full length album is due to be out in stores as of tomorrow, September 12, 2006.  This one shall be called Amputechture and will no doubt also be fantastic.  I hope its a little less progressive then Francis the Mute, simply because its incredibly difficult to listen to that CD in chunks; you have to sit down to the whole serving or nothing, and its not always I have an hour or so to dedicate solely to the listening of a CD.  Still, it will be fantastic and I shall be in line at 9:30 as the store opens to pick up my copy.

Oh yeah, the fourth and final year of my English undergrad begins today.  Hold Fast, young sailor?
